Talking New gut trying to learn dild (or whatever lucid dream comes first)

Hello everybody when i went to this site for the first time (3 days ago) my mouth felled open i was so excited of the possibilities flying and using magic (fireball etc.) things i always did wanna do which i thought they wheren,t possible (well they still are but not in a lucid dream) now i found out that you can so i am trying to learn dreaming lucid now and i really do my best. So i have some questions for the advanced guys:

How many nights did you need until you got your first lucid dream?

In what way? (dild mild wild) (i am trying to learn dild)

How many dreams should i recall for lucid dreaming? (i now can remember one a night)

      Tips?

      thanks for replying!

2nd edit in 5 minutes... but i have another question. In my dreams my surroundings do always change big or small but are certainly never the same. is that a personal dreamsign? Strangely enough i alwasy just except (in my last dream there was fun fair in (!!!) my school) and how can i get my dream self to just dont except it anymore?

      thanks again for replying!

Hello there LTking, welcome to the forums!

Lucid dreaming is indeed promising and exciting. The idea that all that I dreamt of was possible in my dream brought great enthusiasm to me.

I don't remember how much time it took before my first Lucid Dream, but what I can tell you is: keep persisting in your efforts and it will come sooner than you expect! There's no better thing as your first lucid dream. The sensation is impossible to put into words. You will feel great for many days, just like when you fall in love

My first (induced) Lucid dream (I had one or two Lucid Dreams in childhood) was after a False Awakening, which means a DILD. DILD is easier to learn, but you cannot induce lucid dreams at will. My suggestion is, if you really want to induce them at will, then focus on DILD at the beggining, until you have your first (and good) lucid dreams, and then go after WILD (that's what I did). You may also find combining techniques useful: MILD can be used whenever you want with good results.. there are also techniques for chaining lucid dreams and all you can imagine

In dreams, the most ridiculous things go by unnoticed, mostly because we are unconscious when dreaming. I wouldn't say different dreams are actually a dreamsign.. a dreamsign is more like, e.g. lack of gravity, presence of a deceased, and things that would be extremely unobvious in real life.

Works on your dream recall and you'll notice several insolit things, such as your dog talking to you, or trees walking on streets. With practice, yo ucan use those things to question yourself and becoem lucid: that's the concept of a DILD

All said, if you have remaining questions, shoot!

PS: please forgive any typos, I've been deprivating sleep for a kind of study

Hi there LTking, here I am

Actually you can DILD without any effort at all, but chances of so are small.

What I usggest you to do, for now, is to improve your dream recall. You'll find many tutorials and threads on the topic here at Dreamviews. It has been statistically claimed that people who practice only their recall will get around 1 lucid dream per month. That's a lot for not using any induction technique.

Fianlly, the key for DILD is not to look for dreamsigns, but for suspicious things: things which would tell you you are in a dream. If, in real life, you cannot punch an ant, but for some reason you find yourself beating a crowd using your karate, then it could be a dream. If you press the switch, but the lights won't turn on, then it could be a dream. Things like that are what you should be looking for

Also, work on your dream recall-ability!

Do not "be awoken" ... Be sure to wake up!

In short.. Do you recall when you fell asleep?
      ...when you woke up?

Mind those two factors, and you'll be recalling tomorrow!

      (I'd say..)
I know who I am, as I become...

I have to agree with Kromoh. At night, start by increasing your dream recall. Be sure to wake up multiple times throughout the night, and keep a dream journal. Every time you are falling asleep, try to remember that you are going to Lucid Dream. During the day, try to constantly question whether you are awake. Develop the habit of questioning reality while awake, and that same habit will manifest when you dream.

Once you have your first lucid, and are excited enough to stick with it, you can focus on more challenging (and much more rewarding) techinques.

Of course, I have known some people who had good prior experience with meditation techniques and could jump right into Wake Induced Lucid Dreaming.

      Good luck!

welcome lt, it only took me 4 days to get my first lucid, I think the average is about a month. All you need is to remember at least one dream a night, but 2-3 is better because if you have a lucid dream you will have a higher chance to remember. What ever you do keep a dream journal, when I
do I have many more lucid dreams.

as for what tech it was, it was a dild, thats pretty much what everyones is at first. I also dont really think you can learn dild, all you do is reality checks and recognise dream signes. the most important thing to lucid dream is to know you can, and to expect it, if you say you cant you wont be able to. happy dreaming
