      Red face Any Point??

      ?hello there.
Just wondering, if theres any point in keeping a dream journal if you have really good dream recall, and can remember around 3-4 dreams per night?
Even though i know what my dream signs are, i seem to realise i'm dreaming because of my dream signs, but i forget to try and become lucid??

so should i continue with the dream journal?? :p

My dream journal is very helpful.

I've had a couple of lucid dreams every since I started it. It will be of great use to you and you should stick with it.

If you stop, your dream recall will fall. Simple as that sadly.

Also, a jounal is a great thing to look back through and remember some of the scenes and feelings from your dreams. You can realize some broad trends in your dreams by looking through many of them and maybe get some more dream signs. I'd keep a journal because it forces you to think about and remember more about your dreams.

Well...if you happened to have a natural talent in recalling your dream, then you are very lucky! though....
That still doesnt ensure you a good chance of having a LD.
Dream recall...helps you to build your AWARENESS because everything that you write down in there will help you in a long term.

Once, i had a problem finding my dreamsign and had a dry spell for a while.
So, i started going trough my DJ again and i found another dreamsign!
Next thing i know,...it became more and more easier to recognise it.

Not everyone find thier dreamsign early on
so even if you dont have it yet, you can still LD but you need to train yourself to become more aware so that you can tell the different between Dream and reality.

Next time when you Look around and see things, look at the texture, sound, color, movement, shape and try appriciate it.

      Hope this help.

the DJ is really a great tool to implement all the time (for reasons already mentioned above). If you find it kind of a hassle, however, you could try a couple things:
      1) Use a short form method of documenting your dreams. Using bullets or keywords - just enough to help you remember the dream later should you go though a dry spell or if you're looking for a dreamsign.

      2) Only record those dreams which are either lucid or vivid. This way you don't feel that obligation to need to journal every day- but will still have this "goal" of going lucid in the back of your head because you know it will merit adding another entry in the journal.

I'm sort of in the same boat, so I use the second method.

It's always fun to write down your more amusing dreams and read them later. And no matter how good your recall is, it can always get better.

Well you don't need to do it, although it is recommended. A dream journal is like a tool for lucid dreamers and people just generally interested in dreams.

It helps you with your recall, allows you remember your dreams far more better.

It's not just for recall either, it can help you get lucid too, after time you will recognize dream signs in there. Then these will get put into your head and after a while, when a dream sign happens again. You're dream self will notice this and realise that you're dreaming.
