I got to the stage last night, but the vibrations stopped, I felt really relaxed though but sort of fully aware of my surroundings, I thought I was awake so I moved, it seemed to take a little bit more effort than usual to move out of it and when I did start to move I began to feel kind of groggy like I'd woken up in the middle of the night or somthing. Im just curious, did I fail at that point when the vibrations stopped and did infact awaken, or was I supposed to remain still?

      Dont worry,
Based on what i've read..its usually takes around 2 vibration before you went to a more deeper stage where the random images that are flashing infront of your eyes are getting more vivid.
I dont really know, why should you still be moving at that point because your body are 'paralyse'.
So yeah, dont force yourself to move.

There's a lot of techniques out there.Explore the forum Read more and more.
      No pain no gain,my friend.
I suggest you read the book from STEPHEN LABERGE(the father of LD) called EXPLORING THE WORLD OF LUCID DREAMING.
