Thread: So I think I've found my dream sign

For the past four-five nights, I have dreamed that I was driving my parent's car. I'm guessing this is frequent enough to be considered a DS!

I'm really excited about taking a step closer to lucidity, but how exactly do you train yourself to RC when you see your dream sign? For some reason, it doesn't even cross my mind.

You have to remember to RC whenever you're in your parents' car. Not easy to do in some cases, unless you have the determination.

I strongly suggest you don't use this method of inducing a lucid dream. This may not be true in every case, but most people who try this technique end up having very few if any lucid dreams. There are many more sure-to-get-you-a-lucid-dream techniques out there than this one. However, don't let my post discourage you from trying if you feel like this is the right technique for you. Anyhow, good luck in whatever method you try!

I disagree with that, I'd say this technique is very good.

nzguy, what I would suggest is repeating to yourself every night before you fall asleep, "When I'm in my parents' car, I will know it's a dream." Also try writing it a few times to help embed it in your memory.

I'm sure that this is a good technique for you. However, just because you find success doesn't mean the majority of the people will.

Nzguy: The technique that I found the most success is the FILD technique. It isn't the most well-known technique, but I have had a near 100% success rate with this technique. Other people have had great success with it too! I recommended this to 4 different users on this site and they all had success with it. Just like the MILD technique, the FILD might not work for you. However, if you don't have much success with this technique then I suggest you try the FILD. On the FILD thread, you can find many tips on how to accomplish this technique successfully. I will be glad to answer any questions you might have regarding the FILD technique.
