Thread: Pre-dream sounds

noises are totally normal, personally i hear lots of big conversations or someone sawing the wall next to me. lucky for me these are easy to tell apart from real life. usually when you snap out of a trance the noises stop, but that can be annoying having to check all the time so it's best to just ignore them.

Alright, so the sounds are generally abnormal sounds?

Sometimes just random loud quick distortions or strange noises, or other things.


I remember specifically one time seeing HI and in the background hearing the news on my TV. It sounded so realistic, I almost got up and turned the TV off, but slipped into a lucid and awoke to see the TV had been off the whole time.

Many many other times I hear music.

I'm not sure if there really is a way to tell the difference.

Once in a great while I hear voices or music when on the verge of sleeping. A couple of those times I simply questioned if those noises were real. Some small part of me simply realized I shouldn't be hearign that voice as I was home alone. I knew then that Ihad to be dreaming. With the music, I knew a country station wouldn't play Mozart and again realized I must be dreaming. A reality check or two confirmed this and I proceeded to have a LD.

Both times the noises automatically stopped when I realized I was in a dream. So... maybe question the noise if it's continual (but don't think too hard on it or you might wake) and tell yourself must be dreaming. If the sounds stop upon that affirmation perhaps you are on the doorstep of a lucid dream.
