Hmm, well the main reason you have good luck with Lucid Dreaming when
you sleep in, is because REM period's are longer, the longer you sleep.
Plus your mind is more awake as well.

You should work on recalling all of your dream's better. then start
watching for dreamsign's, and doing reality check's durring the day.

then you should be able to have more Lucid Dream's, durring normal sleeping hour's.

Once you do that, learning dream control is just a matter of practice.
