Hello I know that none of you know me cause I'm new here, which is why I'm posting. I'd basically like to introduce myself and share past experiences that I've had with lucid dreaming and hopefully get someone experienced with lucid dreaming to explain if I've actually accomplished anything, and answer some other random questions I have
Alright, so only yesterday did I hear about the concept of lucid dreaming and I realized that I had had experiences where I knew I was dreaming in the past, but never thought much of it or knew that I could possibly control a dream.
To be honest, I'm kinda scared of lucid dreaming. The only experiences I've had in the past with it were ALL nightmares and they ALL involved me entering the dream by thinking I have woken up, which quickly changes when something scary happens... I have had control of my actions in dreams, but never control of anything else. I'll try to explain some of the lucid dreams I've had before.
This one was a reoccurring dream I used to have... I would dream that I woke up and I kinda wandered out of my room into the hall where I was attacked by one of my brothers giant stuffed dolls... Once that happened I knew I was dreaming. The next times I found myself in that dream I knew it was a dream as soon as I saw the doll... But I guess I wasn't totally lucid because I always ended up walking out into the hall anyway.
Another one I had was where I thought I woke up and then I was being tapped on the foot by a disembodied hand (that's when I became lucid) and then there was a whole bunch of stomping noises, and I decided to use one of the few abilities I seem to have in dreams... waking up. I simply close my eyes and think to myself that it is a dream, then jerk my head upward and wake myself. I've had quite a few dreams like this one.
Anyway, that's enough of my dreams for now (and could someone try to make sense of this/give me advice?)
I also have one question. If you control your dream so that you do something in the dream that you've never done before, if you were to go out in real life the next day and do it for the first time for real, would it be the same as the dream experience you had?
