Hello there I just joined up with these forums to share my experiences with everyone. A little about myself...Well I had my first LD when I was 11 or 12. One of my friends was staying the night at my house and we were staying up late. I started to doze off a bit and found myself standing a field. In the middle of the field was a large tree without any leaves on it, a dead tree I guess. My friend was talking to me as I fell asleep and I remember asking him if he could see that tree over there. I realized I was dreaming after a moment and woke myself up. He was asking me what I was talking about, and I just kind of shrugged it off.

Ever since then, my lucid dreams have been on an off. I am 25 now, and still have lucid dreams. Mind you, its not by choice. My lucid dreams have never been by choice, they just happen. I haven't had a full night's rest, (straight 8 hours of sleep), for about 8 years. For the past 5 years or so I have been working night shifts for work. I never really get anymore than 2-3 hours of sleep a day with maybe 15 or 20 minute naps throughout the day before work. Why don't I get anymore sleep than that you ask? I'm just not tired I guess, I will try to and end up just laying there. I'm sure the schedule I've been on has somethin to do with that.

I have browsed the forums a bit. And I understand that a lot of people here try to induce lucid dreaming. That is all well and good, and I suppose at times it can be very exciting. Other times it can be very scary. I'm not sure if I have a medical condition, perhaps sleep apnea or something, but please know that some people have no choice when it comes to lucid dreaming. With that being said, I do look forward to sharing my experiences with people who have had the same and hope we can all eventually find the answers we seek.
