      New...

Hi there. I just came across this site while reading up on sleep at www.howstuffworks.com. I read a little about it and was hooked right in. I first heard of "Lucid Dreams" from the movie Vanilla Sky. I thought it was made up by the movie because I had never heard of it before.

Anyways. I'm really intersteed because every once in a while I am able to realize that I am dreaming while I dream. I can control these dreams occassionally but I think sometimes I try too hard and it ends up waking me up and bringing me out of the dream.

I am really looking forward to finding out how to improve this technique and much more. I haven't gone through the whole site yet b/c i have to get to sleep (coincidentally), but I will definitely be hanging around.

P.S. Would you say I'm "a step ahead" by already being able to realize I am dreaming and being able to control the dreams for short periods of time? Or is this normal? Also, I will find myself sitting up in bed and actually talking while I am somewhere else in my dreamworld. I know I am really in my room sitting up, yet my dreamworld is still real to me. I love those dreams... but anyways. See ya around.

Welcome to DreamViews! I'd say you're a considerable step ahead! You have already experienced a lucid dream. Stick around and learn some techniques on inducing lucid dreams and how to control your dreams better.

Vanilla Sky is what intrigued me about Lucid dreaming as well.

The dream is real, my friends. The failure to realize it is the only unreality.

That's awesome to hear! Thanks for the warm welcome. I can't wait to learn more. I would like to be able to control when I have a lucid dream, that'd be really neat. Then, if possible, OBEs and WILDs sound interesting too. I'm getting a little ahead of myself... lol

This sounds too exciting to be true. OBs... I mean, I've never doubted the fact that they can happen, but being able to train yourself to do it?! I mean, I just thought that stuff was in the movies.

Yep and thats just the tip of the Ice-berg. That Movie Matrix has some great aspects toward Lucid Dreaming and OB's but just like the movie you gotta be confindent enough to see how far does the rabbit hole really go. It's all on you buddy. Just enjoy it.
