Hey i'm new to this forum and the whole lucid dreaming buisness. I've had a few before I believe, where I have realised that it was a dream and had somewhat relative control over my surroundings. I'm excited to start my dream journal but every time i wake up in the night (roughly 2-4 times a night) i always shrug it off and fall back asleep. I usually just tell myself "Oh, i'll remember it by the morning" haha but that never works. How am I ever supposed to record my dream journal if i forget my dreams by the morning?

I keep a small pad of paper and pen next to my bed. If I wake up in the middle of the night, right after a dream, I'll try to snatch up the paper quickly and write down keywords from the dream - just enough to remind me in the morning about what it was about. Sometimes I'll be too lazy to actually write anything down, so I'll memorize the keywords in my head so I can recall them in the morning, and therefore remember the dream. The writing way works better though, imo.
After I wake up and write down any other keywords from any dreams that I can remember, I'll record the dream in it's detailed entirety in my DJ which I keep as a Word document on my computer. If I know I won't be able to get on my computer until later in the day (if I have to work early), I'll write down more complete details of the dream so I can recall it better later.
oh and btw, welcome to the forum! And what does your username mean?

Yea, welcome to DV. Burns gave great advice. Also, when you are falling asleep, tell yourslef that you will wake up after each and ever dream. Just really want tat to happen and you usually will wake up to write your dreams down.

Thanks for the warm welcome, the name is german for apple pancakes which are really good by the way. Well I tend to drink alot of water before i go to sleep and that helps me wakeup after each dream and before I go to bed, I tell myself to remember my dreams which also has been working lately. I just have to start working on putting the images from my head to my paper.
