Okay, so, I stumbled apon this site on accident yesterday. I actually started practicing dream recall last night. Okay, so my question....
When one is in a lucid dream, do they have complete consciousness? That is, when you are lucid dreaming, can you think just like you were awake and literally explore this dream world with your complete consciousness?

To answer you question "yes" You are fully aware as if you are awake while you are dreaming. Thus you are able to explore your dreamworld with your conscious mind opposed to your subconscious mind. I was concious, but you must stay aware of the fact that you are dreaming, or you might be pulled in and lose lucidity. At least that's what happened to me. :banana:

I was in the state between sleep and awake, and I wasn't so much dreaming as I was in deep thought. If I concentrated hard enough, I could see my own thoughts... It was really strange. Oh, and another question... How long do Lucid Dreams normally last? I know that you can stabilize them, but on average, how long can you keep control of a dream?
The time you can spend in an LD varies with the individual and the more experienced you become, the longer you will be able to continue the dream.
It depends on how far into the REM cycle you are, what you're doing in the dream, how long you've been asleep, outside factors, how good you are at keeping lucidity. . . so it's completely variable. Also time is less constant while you're dreaming so what feels like days in a dream might only be 10 minutes in real life.
