hi everyone! first post. my first recorded lucid dream last nigt. i think ive had them before, but my dream recall was never that good untill i started a DJ. ive noticed elevators in my dreams often, ones that fall while you are in them! so last night when the elevator started falling i ddid a RC. i looked at my hands to see if i had 5 fingers, but when i looked at my hands i couldnt see them, from there it became clear it was a dream. i couldn't belive how real it had felt! i tried dream spinning, but it didnt work that well. i was able to try breathing underwater, that was cool. lucidity faded very fast, but it was still an awesome experience.

Welcome on Board and congrats on your LD! Yeah, breathing under water is a really cool thing. It's been a while since I've done that though. =P

It was about 5 month for me, no luck, all is good DR, DJ, RC, but I can not seem to trigger RC in a dream Any advice from from you experince?

This is my first post too. I have been having lucid dreams for quite a few years. The first was when I was walking at night in a dream and looked back to see many twinkling lights upon a hill behind me. I thought, "There are not supposed to be that many lights there." As soon as I thought this, some of the lights went out. I immediately realized that I made that happen and was very excited about being able to do this. It was a great adventure to explore my dream potential from that point. I also remember the first time I dreamed of breathing underwater. It was a deep clear pool of water that reflected the moon through the tree tops. I tried to hold my breath at first and then let my anxiety go and took a deep breath. It felt different from breathing air but filled me with wonder to know I could do this.

nice job I as well had my very first (as far as i know) lucid dream last night. It wasnt anything spectacular so im not going to make a whole new topic but ill tell ya about it So i read up on the FILD technique (now i think its called hild) but i woke up early in the morning (dont know the time but it was in the early AM, and i was dead tired) so i said, why not try it. I tried it and kept concentrating on my fingers (as much as i could) and then said oh..i need to do a RC. So i plugged my nose and i could breathe...sadly it all felt normal to me and i dont remember anything else...or if anything else happened. But it boosted up my confidence i suppose because the split second i noticed i could breathe i knew i was lucid...just couldnt stay that way. oh well..better luck tonight

I did it! I had one very short lucid dream by accident months ago, did some reading, and starting trying. Had an amazing dream the first week! I was spinning to keep myself in, and experiemented with moving around. Then for months and months - nothing. Very discouraging. I really wanted to fly in a dream. Last night, FINALLY, had a dream that a bunch of strangers were in my house. I was pushing them out onto the porch, then noticed the porch was not ours. I turned to my husband, "Do you think this is real or a dream?" He said, "This is real." I said, "No - it's a dream!" and FLEW off the porch! Swooped and swirled all over the neighborhood, landed on a roof, up through clouds. I decided to go up really fast, and watched the earth shrink below me. I finally got tired of flying, and landed to think of something else to do. I felt myself start to shift awake. I tried to spin, but woke up. I've always remembered my dreams. The trick for me to attain lucidity - If I can just ask myself if it is a dream, I know it is. Next I want to breathe underwater, and then start having important people show up and have discussions. Hey guys! Gratz on the LDs! Mary. . . totally freaky. . . my mom's name is Maryl Lynne and she's in Cleveland so when I saw your name and city for a second I was like. . . oh no. . . tell me that's not my mother if she sees some of the stuff in my DJ I'm totally done for. . . Yes, I'm 25, and I'm still afraid of my mother. Then I took a second glance and saw it said Mary not Maryl and Cincinati not Cleveland. . . whew. . . if my mom ever does turn up on this message board I will be sure to do EVERY RC I've ever heard of to make sure I'm not dreaming. . . talk about a nightmare.

It is an incredible feeling to fly and seems so natural. A couple times, I felt like my belly was dragging because my beliefs were contradicting my "dream potential".
