Hey everyone, I'd love for you to read about my experiences and comment on them, I have lots of questions!
First I'll start off with frequency, I have had probably only 4-5 lucid dreams, and a few other episodes (which I’ll explain in a second) since I had my first, probably 5-6 years ago (I am 20).
Every lucid dream I have had (until last night) I would immediately wake up right after realization, because I got too excited. But last night I had a dream in which I was talking to a friend, and something struck me odd, and I realized, this isn't reality this has to be a dream, so my first thought was to contain my excitement.
I turned to my friend and said, hey this isn’t real this is a dream, you aren't real! And it was almost like he was playing dumb, knowing he was just a figment, and he says "I don't know what you are talking about." So I took him outside of the building we were in, and I thought, I have to do something to prove to myself this is a dream.
So I jumped in the air and hovered for a few seconds, then landed, and told my friend "watch this, you are going to bounce" so I grabbed him and jumped up about 150 feet and dropped him while I hovered there, and at this point I think "this better be a dream," and sure enough he bounced up and back onto his feet
after that I woke up.
---Another interesting thing that has happened to me a few times was when I would take a nap at an odd time, my mind would wake up, and I would realize my position and where I was, and that I was conscious, but I couldn't move! When this happens I can't move or open my eyes. I am just there and I put all my strength into making any sort of action and I can't until I fully wake up. Naturally this is very scary especially the first couple times it happened but the 2 times it happened after that I was ready and just waited it out... it only lasts less than a minute. <--- Does anyone know what it is I have experienced?
--Also sometimes I wonder whether it is true lucidity or if it is just dreaming you are having a lucid dream. how can you tell?
