Hi there everyone - I just wanted to say a quick, "Hello," and introduce myself. I hope to start lurking around here a bit more regularly, and working on LD more extensively.
As a brief introduction, the name's Denae, or Nae if you like. I'm 22, living in Chicago, IL, and working on getting my Masters in Forensic Psychology (one more year to go!). It's a field I'm probably too passionate about, so if I sound like a psychologist now and then, forgive me. They really are good at drilling all that psychobabble and jargon into your head, let me tell you! But I digress.
I've always had a strong fascination with dreams and dreaming, and recall always having very vivid and realistic dreams even as a child. I consider myself as having a rather strong dream recall, though I've been pretty lax in keeping track for a few years now. I talk about what I've dreamt almost every day to someone, but never bother to write them down. After deciding to wander here for some reading, I think it's time to hop back on the dream journal wagon!
I've never achieved a fully lucid dream, though I did dabble in the exercises for a while back when I was 15, and again when I was 20. I first heard about LD when I worked at a public library and someone returned a book called "30 Days to Lucid Dreaming" or some such variation of that. I checked it out, read it, and tried some of it, but at 15, I had little patience to start at the beginning, and got frustrated when I wasn't flying around my dreams on night #1.
I don't have much real experience with the exercises though, so that's a point that I need to work on. I figure if I can make myself keep a consistent dream journal for 2-4 weeks, that would be a good time to start working on the LD inducing exercises.
But anyway! I've rambled enough. It's good to be here, and I look forward to learning a lot from everyone here!
