Hi people. I won't actually be posting much (or at all) for the moment, as I'll be reading my LD book and lurking a good deal here, but thought I might get the introductions out of the way.

So I'll tell you how I got to know about LD. It happened like this:
I was a big fan of the band Therion. However I hadn't listened to them in forever, and had pretty much forgotten about them. Then by chance I happened to watch a video of a concert of their's and my interest was renewed. So I decided to have a listen to the Sirius B album, and was totally blown away.
I always research any band that I like, and therefore knew that they were closely tied with the magical order Dragon Rouge. So I started researching DR, and was reading an overview of their "levels" when in one of them I saw the words "lucid dreaming".
That sounded vaguely familiar, so I researched it and was totally blown away (again!) by the idea, the concept, especially after I realized that it wasn't some new age BS.

I realized I have actually become lucid at least several times in my teen years and later (I'm 21), but have never retained lucidity while dreaming. What happens is that I realise I'm dreaming (yeah, VERY occasionally), but immediately wake up. Not that retaining consciousness (or would that be unconsciousness?) - much less controling anything - ever entered my mind.

So today I will be getting ETWOLD, and will hopefully be able to put it to good use.

I'll just finish this off with a dream I had last night, I thought it was curious. No, it wasn't a LD.
So I (in real life) really had to go to sleep, and was trying my hardest to do so. Time passes, it starts getting bright outside and I still can't fall asleep. Suddenly everything is dark, and I feel myself trying to get up. I knew that I was leaving my body. I feel weightless (perhaps even formless? I don't know, it was dark), but it's difficult to get up because my body seems sticky-like, as if I were lying down in honey.
I managed to get to nearly a sitting position (the waist up, now outside my body, felt weightless) when I suddenly felt a very strong pull and was yanked back to a lying position, at which point I woke up.
My back felt very hot. It was in fact all dark, the part about me still trying to fall asleep in the early morning sunlight was a dream (talk about frustrating!). I'm guessing the second part was also, but I'm not sure.
Either way I thought it was interesting.

Anyway g'day folks. I hate being a n00b anywhere, especially a clueless one, so will probably start posting more often once I gain some knowledge and skills.
