i wonder if you could shine some light

yes i'm new here and have been doing a lot of research on lucid dreaming, i actually experienced it at a younger age but didn't take advantage of it. i would simply swear at my school teachers, an wake up. lastnite i tried a technique wich was in one of the tuturials i cnt remember wich one. i counted from 100 backwads, taking deap breathes on everynumber. i got to around the 40s, and i started to lose feelings of my legs. purple and yellow coulers were dancing passed my eyes an i had a slight headeache. and i remember reading that this is the stage before you enter your dreams and objects start to materilize, well it was like this for about five minites and i started to get pins and needles in da end of my fingers as my body had formed a very curled up position. about a minite past with flickering couler but i had still not entered my dream. wen suddenly two grey hands started to form infront of me. but then i was awakened by a plate crashing downstairs. i wondered if any1 could shine some light on this subject, my telling me why it took so long , or even if this was nearly a lucid dream.

i'd b grateful for any replies

Hey there and welcome to the .

It is cool that you took advantage of the LDs when you were younger.

The technique you nearly experienced was a WILD, and that is pretty good for a first try, since WILD is one of the harder techniques to use (some people find it EZ though).
If you knew you were dreaming as you were entering this dream, than yes it was a LD.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

the thing is that i didn't actually enter the dream, it was just basicaly different coulers dancing under my eyelids, and it was like that for about 5 mins, i was wondering why it went on for so long and i didn't fully enter my dream.
any information would be useful thanks

Oh, were you not having the tingly feeling inside your body (and unable to move it) along with it?

Okay, then that is called HI (hypnotic imagery), which can be considered to be a start to a WILD. And sometimes it can take time to fully enter a dream, even in the trans state of a WILD (sometimes, I have been caught in that state for even an hour before I really enter a dream).

Well, that is because I have a slight thing where I can't fall asleep any other way, so after about 15 years of having it, I have learned to tolerate it!
Well, you could try MILD or DILD, if you would rather, since those do not involve the vibes, and tend to be slightly easier. :vibes:

This might be a stupid comment (I am a newbie)

But taking deep breathes... I mean try that right now when you're awake, you get dizzy from the excess oxygen entering your system. Maybe that's what was happening?
