      A Little About Me

Having recently joined this site I decided to post a bit about me:

My name is Jarad and I live in Australia. I have had Lucid Dreams since I was around 12. At first I had bad dreams where I would suddenly realise it was a dream (like if a pack of snakes was heading towards me) and I would tell myself to wake up (and I would). Well it worked most of the time...sometimes I wouldn't wake up and be stuck in the dream! These were a nightmare in themselves as I would be in this strange state between waking and dreaming. It was like being awake and aware but not being able to open my eyes. I would have to try to bring myself back to reality by somehow 'breaking' the dreams hold on me. I would try and hit my lamp, or anything else, to try and make that connection with reality to wake me up. It requires alot of mind power to move your body when you are still dreaming so I would wake up 'huffing and puffing'. These situations have become non-existent now that I am older and have alot more control over my mind (It is alot easier to break free of the dream now).
I have an okay dream recall (in fact sometimes you will find me to start laughing over a dream I had the night before if something triggers me to remember the content of the dream) as I had a dream journal for a little while a year or two ago. I always remember at least 1 dream a night and sometimes up to 4.
I have had an experience with Dream Control but I have now joined this site to try and gain more control over my dreams. I want to be able to do this so I can explore my subconscious to better understand myself and everything around me. I also like having a fun with my dreams.

Hey there, and welcome to the forum!!
Are you stressed when you find you cannot wake up from those nightmares? If so, that could be the reason.
You are already at a good start at controlling your dreams by having excellent recall, and having a few Lucids. If you keep this up, you should eventually be able to control your dreams.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!!
