      I am from India

      Namaskar friends.

I am from India working in Delhi. Have you ever met a person from India in your dream? If so, how was your interaction?

      regards,

      Welcome aboard Jogeshwar!

Like Carter said...I haven't had many dreams involving Indians, but all of my waking life Indian friends are cool.

Which reminds me of an experience I had once in Chicago, with a young Indian women I met at a bar. However, I'll save that for another thread. ~

I've encountered several Gurus in my dreams -- a few were personal Gurus with whom I was actually acquainted with, and a few were famous Gurus of which I heard and read. In my dreams they have either instructed me, given me advice, or given me certain gifts, or initiated me into other levels of their practice.... Guru stuff.

      Namaskar friends.
      Namaskar.

I am excited to read so many welcoming responses.

To Barbizzle-Thank you for your invitation for PM. Certainly I shall PM you when I shall have a sure question.

To Howetzer- Indians normally view the dreams as omenous. So they try to find omenous meaning out of it. This is folk belief. However, modern Indians do not pay much significance to dreams.

To R. Carteer-I am happy that your rating of your Indian friends is "great".

To InThe moment-By "cool" do you mean they are timid or lively. I shall certainly hear your bar view.

To Leo Volont- You have ascended to a higher spiritual plane. I wish, I were you.

      regards,
      Jogeshwar

Thank you, but there still is some room for improvement.

In fact, that reminds me of a dream I had a few months ago, where it seemed a great many 'spiritual' people and myself were blockaded into this large house, and Evil was laying seige to us, and we all quite thought that our Enemy would break in at any moment. But we did not allow that to preoccupy our attention. It became a topic of conversation that I had recently won a few 'spiritual competitions' -- cooking competitions it seems. And there was one very talented young man who was extremely resentful of my success. His problem with me was that I used recipes that I had received directly from my various Gurus and had not really independently created a thing. Well, the point I maintained was that my dishes tasted better than all of the others, and, after all, was that not the point. And certainly everybody else in the competition were likewise just as free as I was to either chance a personal recipe, or select a famous traditional recipe almost assured to be a popular favorite. Well, this explanation only made this talented young man even more annoyed with me. You know, in real life I am not nearly as snotty as I am on this Page, and so I shut up and smiled and changed the subject in order to somewhat sooth the sensibilities of that talented young man... but he would have none of it, and left the room snearing and grumbling.

I was about to be a bit dejected... for, considering, nobody enjoys being so obviously despised, but then one of my old favorites in the Guru Realms, Neem Kerali Baba, approached and gestured me to hold out my hand, and when I did he poured some small amount of gold dust into my palm and told me tersely that it would be good for me.

Well, the point of this dream, is that while the Gurus like me, it may be only because I flatter them more than all of the others, while those remarkable for having any true innate talent don't necessarily have a very high opinion of me.

But I think that is an important distinction to make that strikes at the very central core of Spirituality, and that is that Spirituality should be about Collectivity and Joint Efforts. If one wants to be a Rugged Individual then why not just join the Republican Party. Spirituality should be about oneness and togetherness... where it makes sense to see that there is absolutely no problem with using the Guru's recipe. To see beyond the Personal to the Collective is sort of the point, isn't it?

I've visited India a few times in my dreams, so yeah I guess I have met some Indian people in my dreams.

      Dear Leo Volont,
      Namaskar.

Despite some of your negative experiences as mentioned, I feel that you are in a higher spiritual plane. It is also your true realisation that always there is scope for improvement. This feeling is really continue to step you up. For that we do have a mantra to reverberate personally and recite collectively. Here it is:

LET US ATTAIN PERFECTION AND PLEASURES IN FEELING FREE RELAXED, REORGANISED AND PRODUCE AND PROGRESS INSTANTLY,PERFECTLY,PERMANENTLY AND PSONTANEOUSLY.

For removing the negatives from thoughts and dreams here is an exercise:

The purpose of this exercise is:

1.To plunge into theta state of brain waves, a deep state of relaxation.(For a little more about brain waves, please open the threads “empowerment” and “The heaven of kranti”)
      2.To stimulate every brain cell.
3.To cleanse unconscious which contains the garbage of our experiences.
      4.To break the obsessions.

      THE EXERCISE
      1. Suspend your logical thinking for a while and be in a translogical mental set as if in dream.
      2. Sit down in a comfortable position where you will continue for about 45 minutes.
      3. Feel relaxed and close your eyes.
      4. The beginning:
Imagine a big lake with abundance of lotuses. There is a very big lotus which covers the whole lake. You are in the center of this lotus. You find a little hole in the center. You get thinned and slide down through the hole. You get into the chord which is long enough and you go on sliding and sliding………… Then you reach in a very beautiful palace. As you go on exploring, you find a beautiful garden. Here are various types of strange animals which are very meek and mild. You see some rabbits which are having very big horns. You mount on a rabbit and climb on one of its horns. You go on climbing up and up and up………………
      5. Have no more imaginations by your effort but leave the imaginations to flow by themselves spontaneously. Be just effortless.
      6. You will have strange imaginations.
      7. Whenever any ugly imagination comes, just reverberate BEAUTY. The ugly imaginations will disappear. Please do not forget to reverberate BEAUTY whenever any ugly imagination comes. I find that some become so engrossed in the imagination that they forget to reverberate.
      8. Continue for about 45 minutes.
      9. Observe your feelings. How freshening it is!
      10. Repeat it regularly. You may restructure step 4 above as you please.

The third thing you have rightly said that collective effort adds to progress. However, this is no substitute for individual effort. Both are complementary.

      regards,
      Jogeshwar
