Hello! I had my very first lucid dream just over a week ago and cannot wait to have more. I stumbled upon the term somewhere and started to look into what they were and was very intrigued. Coincidentally I got a 24h flu bug and was in bed right around this time, so I spend the day watching youtube videos about how to LD and learning all about it. A few days later I had one using WILD (I went back to bed after not being able to sleep for 2 hours in the night- this is extremely unusual for me). I had a false awakening, woke, and then was able to have a full-length truly LD! It was the most incredible experience! Despite all the research I have done on the topic, very few people make mention of the fact that everything seems so real. And that is an understatement. I've had pretty good dream recall most of my life, but I realize now that all my nonLD sort of seem like they are playing on the background in a very low quality tv...the feel very intangible and greyed-over once I wake up. My first LD made real life actually look really dull for a day or 2 afterwards!

Anyway, I have been trying to stick with WILD, simply because I almost always wake up at about 4-5am anyway- my husband gets up for work at 4:30. I haven't had much success yet, although it feels like I get a bit closer every day. I have false awakenings, or I dream about boring everyday things without doing a RC, but more often than not, I stay conscious for 2 hours while my body is heavy and stiff and images are floating around but I just don't cross over into a dream. The biggest problem I have found is that I wake up very tired and feel really sleepy almost all day. I am trying to get to bed a bit earlier, just hard to do.

I'm looking forward to learning more and hearing about other peoples experiences!
