Newcomer struggling to induce LDs >~<

Hello all! I'm Tami. I'm new to this site, but definitely not new to lucid dreaming: I've been fascinated by dreams in general since about 2012 - mostly a result of my interest in philosophy and surrealism - and have recorded a couple of hundred dreams since then. At the height of my progress, I used to have a lucid dream every second night, recalling up to six or seven dreams per night. About a year ago I had a very stressful period of exams where I would only sleep for about 3 or 4 hours a night, which, needless to say, didn't do my lucid dreaming any good.

Nowadays, I sometimes only get about 6-7 hours of sleep due to extracurricular activities and schoolwork which means even my dream recall is limited. On nights where I get 8-9 hours of sleep - usually on weekends - I can recall up to 5 dreams per night with additional fragments, but I still struggle to induce lucid dreams. So I've decided to create an account on here just for motivation ^.^
My New Year's Resolution is to increase my dream recall to a stable 3-4 dreams per night and four lucid dreams per month.

I'd also really like to find someone with whom I can regularly share my dreams and LDing progress since it's not something you can discuss with people in real life. If anyone's interested, please PM me! ^~^

Tl;dr: Need support and motivation to improve DR and LDs

Yo Tami to the forum. By the way, you can create your dream journal and share your dream and LDing progress on DreamViews.

      Welcome to the forum!

Aside from posting in the DV dream journal, you can also make your own workbook and track your progress. Have a browse through Intro Class workbooks and you'll see the progress that others have made!

If you have any questions, just ask around and we'll help.

      Welcome to the forum!

I'm just going to add to great suggestions above.

Since it seems like you have great recall when you get full night sleep, you could start by focusing on those nights. In our busy lifestyle, goal of having a lucid as frequently as we used to may not be very realistic.

You didn't say how did you used to get your lucids. Are you a natural LDer, or did you practice a method? In any case, you could read up on DILDs, WILDs and DEILDs. Then make the day when you have time to sleep in a special day. Think about LDs, read your dream journal or other members entries, make a plan of what you want to do in a lucid to let your mind know what you want it to do. Get excited about it and set your intent of having a lucid that night.

      Induction Methods and Techniques
      WILD

Good luck and ask if you have any questions.
