Well guys I'm new to the forum. I finally joined since I felt like I had something to add lol.

So I've been smoking Marijuana for a few years. As much as I love it, it doesn't really work out when my plan is to be a police offi er, so pretty soon I need to quit. Since my ritual had been to smoke at night, I found I needed something new to do, and ended up lucid dreaming by accident.

I was taking a break from weed to lower my tolerance, and couldn't sleep well. After a few days of bad sleep, I just passed out when I hit my bed. And as you may know, after smoking weed a lot, you get REM-rebound. Well I quickly slammed into a dream, and since it had been a while since I dreamt at all, I became lucid almost immediately. After this experience, I did research and got better at LD's, and wanted to share my 'cycle' and see if anyone else does the same thing.

I developed a sort of regiment. I love smoking, but I really do need breaks every few weeks. So what I do now, is I smoke nightly for maybe 4-5 weeks. When I feel I need a break, I wean myself off for just two days, and then stop. The first few days I use melatonin, magnesium and 5-htp supplements to sleep. But the greatest part? Pretty much every night for like 2 weeks, I have an LD! I just find it works so great; it's not "damn I can't smoke for two weeks..." it's now "yeah! I get to live in a world i create myself every night!" and it's awesome.

My question though, is do you guys think it's really the rem-rebound, or placebo? I can't LD after a few nights of smoking, and pretty much as soon as I stop, they come back. To me it's a great tradeoff; lose something great, gain something great! But I really want to know if anyone else does this or something similar
