You'll probably come across other stabilisation techniques around the forum too, like spinning, engaging your senses (eg. rubbing your hands or biting something), or verbal commands. Different methods work for different people - it might be worth giving some of those a try.
I've also seen some cool ideas for getting your eyes working, like taking off imaginary glasses/lenses, or simply realising that you're not restricted by eyelids in dreams because
you don't have eyes!
