Hello everyone,

I am soooo late on starting my first post, as I signed up on here in March. I just kept getting scared to post on here (I'm getting better at posting on forums. Not as scared anymore). So I guess I'm not terribly new here, and I'm not all that new to lucid dreaming, either!

It all began around the age of 13...

No, it didn't. It actually began at the age of 8, and does not have anything to do with lucid dreaming. I had been freshly diagnosed with epilepsy at the time. Benign rolandic to be exact. How does this relate to dreaming, exactly? Well, I would only have seizures at night while I was sleeping. Not only did this cause me to have extremely horrible sleeping habits (falling asleep was terrifying for me), but it prepared me for the sleep paralysis that would soon follow, which I have some interesting stories about as well.

Let's fast forward to the age of 13. By this time, I have had my last seizure, it being at 12 years old. I was still dreaming about them though, and had experienced sleep paralysis couple of times. It was during a project I was doing for a science fair when I discovered the wonderful topic of lucid dreaming. I was completely entranced, and did way more research than the project required. I was obsessed, and soon got my little brother obsessed as well. I kept a dream journal and wrote down what I wanted to have happen in my dream and what did. I did constant reality checks and I didn't move onto the bigger part of the science fair because my project didn't seem to intrigue people as much as it did me. Either way, I have since been going in and out of little spurts of obsession with lucid dreaming.

I can't wait to post some of my experiences and read about the others on here. So I guess I'll talk to you guys some more later.
