Thread: I'm glad I found this place!

Hello everyone and thanks for all the great information. This is what the internet is all about!

Well, I'm here because of a chain of events, really. A few years ago, I experienced a sleep-related phenomenon known as sleep paralysis although I didn't know what it was until tonight! For those who have had the experience or at least are familiar with some of the nasty hallucinations it serves as a side dish, you know it is a truly terrifying experience. In fact, I had no idea what had happened to me and never discussed it with anyone.

I was reading another casual message board about anything and everything and a poster described having this experience last night. When I read his description, it gave me goose bumps. Several other posters followed (including myself) with similar experiences. I wasn't even aware this was a documented event, much less studied and understood. Google to the rescue! During my research, I started finding bits about the lucid dream which is another event I have experienced, although not "voluntarily". This eventually led me to this site which I have read with great interest.

I'm looking forward to exploring dream lucidity and sharing experiences with others here. Thanks again!
