Thread: Hey Guys, Hey

Hey everyone, I'm TheDoctorMouse. I've lurked on the Reddit's /r/LucidDreaming board long enough and now I'm finally here to see why this place has such nice things said about it.

I've on and off tried (very unsuccessfully) to lucid dream for maybe 5 years or so, but I'm pretty committed now; got a journal, working on recall, and casually experimenting with 5-HTC, galantamine, and choline. I'll post about the results when I finish the experiment. No success yet but there's hardly enough statistical power to make any judgements.

I'm an undergrad studying psychology. I think dreams are wicked interesting, although my true passion is research on nonverbal communication. I love statistics to a degree that is illegal in 26 states.

I couldn't keep Buckhello (my doctor mouse) but he did heal me a lot, psychologically (hahaha).

Welcome! Glad to see you've decided to become committed to LDing! If I may ask, does the telepathic or precognitive possibilities that have been speculated by Lucid Dreamers fall under nonverbal communication? If so, then this would be a great place to conduct experiments.

Hi there. As far as definitions go, telepathy and precognitive science falls more under the realm of extrasensory perception studies. Personally, I am extremely skeptical of claims that such phenomena exist, but to each his own.

Nonverbal communication is more eye contact, vocal intonation, body language, facial expressions, etc.

As an aside, the two could technically be tied together in a hypothetical situation; it is possible that some people who believe that they have some ESP ability to read somebody's emotional aura may just be naturally very good at reading body language.
