uhm, first almost lucid dream, sorta

One thing that happened to me the day i joined these boards, i was constantly thinking about deaming. Every night when i was going to sleep, i would tell myself that i would remember my dreams. It worked for about a week, and i would write my dreams down, first on a notepad i kept by my bed, but then i started typing them. But after that, i sort of started slacking of, and i can't remember any of my dreams. I know that i have them, i just can't recall any.

Sleeping at a friends house though, i did manage to remember a dream, and it was kinda lucid. A first since i found out what lucid dreams are.

It's funny, i don't remember anything that took place before hand, but i remember going lucid when i was walking down a street with my girlfriend. I realized that i was dreaming (not sure how). And then i started feeling like i may wake up. I remembered about dream spinning, and i quickly convinced my girlfriend to do it with me. I asked her where she wanted to go, she named a place and i grabbed her and we spinned. We did get moved somewhere, and i think it's the place she wanted, i have no idea where it was. We walked into some restaurant, where a 7 fingered man got all my attention, and that's where the dream ended.

What can i do to help me with my dream recall? I am not keen on the idea of setting my alarm clock to go off every 2 hours at night.

b-6 is a vitamin, right? i don't really wanna take any substances to induce dreaming, not yet
what a natural food that's richest in b6? I found this list
potatoes, bananas, beans, seeds, nuts, red meat, poultry, brewer's yeast, eggs, chicken, carrots, fish, liver, kidneys, peas, wheat germ, walnuts, fish, eggs, spinach, and fortified cereals. Can you guys recomend the best thing to eat before bed?
i'll be more then happy to eat a few bannanas.

i really didn't read any *ILDs yet, since i thought they were only related to becoming lucid. I went though and read the MILD tutorial and ralized i was wrong. I will give that a shot.

It's hard for me to write down my feelings after a dream. I'll wake up, and most of the time it will be the same feeling, like my head is buzzing cause i know i just forgot a dream, but that's it.

      Thanks!

Not really. It doesn't matter if you have any control over your dream or not. What matters is whether you're aware that you're dreaming. Awareness is all you need to be in a lucid dream - you need to know that it's just a dream, and that's why you had a lucid dream. You will most propably have some lucid dreams with barely control at all, and you might even have some normal dreams where you seem to have control over your dream.

I've understood that you would need to take very significant amounts of b6 before it will have any effect. Those amounts can't really be obtained from food. I don't really know about sleep nutrition though.

However, there's some tricks you could try to help with your dream recall. Always when you wake up, just stay still lying in your bed trying to remember your dreams. They will propably come in a few minutes. If you can't remember any dreams, write down how you feel at the moment and think about that. Sometimes it will help you to recall the dream you woke up from.

You also said that your dream recall started to go down when you began to type your dreams. If so, maybe you should go back to writing them in a notebook.
Don't think about those damn kangaroos.

i drank a glass of water and attempted to do a relaxation excersise before falling asleep last night.
Did manage to remember one dream, and have a faint memory of the other. The problem is, i was laying there, not really awake, but not asleep either, being mad at myself that i didn't remember a dream. But, my thumb felt wierd, and i remembered that in my dream, i had a hole in my thumb. A good part of the dream ended up coming back to me. I layed there trying to recall it, and at the same time trying to convince myslef to get up and write it down. By the time i finally got my ass out of bed, my mind wandered too much and i think i forgot a good part of my dream.

The good thing was that i got 6.5 hours of sleep, and woke up before my alarm clock was suppose to go of. When i finally got ready for work, i realized that my alarm was never set.
