      Mirror

I was wondering if anyone else had looked into a mirror during a lucid dream. I am scared right now to see what i may see, because i may not see what i think to be "myself"?

I came to this conclusion because thinking back on my lucid dream logs, i have never once looked into a mirror. I guess just doing it is the best way to get over the fear of doing it.

Fear nothing, not even your reflection.

Hmmm, i've looked in a mirror before, but it wasn't lucid...it was a very vivid dream though...not to frighten you, but i didn't see myself, i saw someone else in the dream.
In interpreting it, the person i saw in the mirror that wasn't myself, i took that to be some aspect of my character that i needed to pay more attention to.
Don't be scared of what you might see, just go with it, and see how it makes you feel. You can learn something.
Also, being as it's a lucid dream, if you don't like what you see, you can change it.
In my case, not being lucid, i was forced to 'confront' an aspect of myself...
      Hope this helps!

      did it once

I looked into a mirror once during a dream (not a LD though). My reflection was me, but I was horribly ugly and disfigured. This was during a time where I was very down on myself and it made me see some things about myself that I didn't like. In my experience, it was like I was seeing what I was afraid I would become on the inside. Weird huh? It really stuck with me, and I used it as a sign that I needed to improve myself, and I have. A rather unsettling experience overall, but extremely productive.

On the 'lucidity' website I read that it was an interesting experiment to try to fly through a mirror in a lucid dream . So as I was flying down a stairway and I saw a large gilt-framed mirror I tried to float through it . As I aproached it the mirror seemd to try and repel me with a magnetic force so the harder I tired to reach it the more distorted my face became in the reflection , a bit like the way g-forces pull back peoples mouth and eyes in Sci Fi films .I was so horrified by my appearance I never tried this again.I agree with jensmb that there seems to be psychological influences on the way we see our relfection .
I wonder if gilt framed =guilt framed .? or is that too Freudian

I tried this last night. Also tried spinning, and rubbing my hands together, which worked great btw, and I did a reality check by looking at my hands, which were all warped looking. So anyway, I went into the bathroom and looked in the mirror. Well, I looked just like me! I looked thinner and I was wearing my favorite shirt. Right after this point I lost lucidity. Then dreamed of a really creepy house and a buffalo.
