so basically i had a bizarre dream lastnight & i just searched up the meaning of it & managed to come across lucid dreaming! :cheeky:

this may be a little too soon to try it but the whole idea has gotten me so bloody excited & i'm hoping even just tonight i will have one.

the thought of being able to whatever you want, however you want.. that's just amazing & there is sooo many different things i wanna try , one of them especially being flight - which i'm sure that was on your minds the first time you found out about lucid dreaming :shadewink: i just hope i can do it.

Not a success unfortunately! it's weird too, i was waking up every two hours or so & remembering a different dream just for a moment, i can't remember being "with it" enough in my dreams to realize i was dreaming :(

First off, welcome!

Second, don't get discouraged. If you become frustrated or doubt yourself then your subconscious won't allow you to become lucid.

You're bound to be really excited these first few days. If I was you--and I'm serious about this--I would stop trying to become lucid now and wait until later. Don't forget about lucid dreaming--you should probably keep thinking about it and "acknowledging" it--but don't try to become lucid tonight. Or tomorrow night. Maybe not even the night after that. If you can, wait until you're no longer so high off of the thought or disappointed because you haven't had a lucid. Then, there might be a greater chance of you gaining lucidity.

Please note that I'm not telling you that you can't be excited about lucid dreaming. That's not what I'm telling you. I hope I'm making sense. :/

Anyway, you need to make sure that your dream recall is excellent. I understand that, this time, you kept waking up in the night and remembering your dreams, but that won't be the case all the time. A lot of people suggest waiting until you can remember at least two or more dreams a night before attempting lucid dreaming, but, personally, I think you would be just fine with recalling one dream a night (that is, if you play your cards right. for example, if you choose to start your practicing your lucid techniques once you can remember a dream a day, then you need to know when to wake up).

I really hope that none of what I'm trying to say has confused you. Basically, just try to calm down--but anticipate!--and make sure that you can remember plenty of dreams. Lucidity is a reachable goal, as long as you keep at it! :)

Indeed, you can get lucid even just after a day or two of practice. And being excited definitelly helps a huge deal. But some practice is necessary.

I don't really think of any failed attempt as a failure. Simply because even those will provide valuable experience.
