Hello all. I only recently hear of these luqid dreams. |

Welcome! When you first wake up, try not to move, and see whether you remember anything at all: even if it is a tiny fragment like "I wrote in my calendar in this deam." Or "I woke up feeling sad but do not remember why." Or "I don't remember the dream but I remember that I did dream, and it seems just out of reach." If you write in your dream journal every day, you are bound to get better at it over time. Another thing: keep a dream journal and a flashlight or an electronic device capable of note taking with lot screen right next to your bed. Then when you wake up in the middle of the night, try to recall a dream, and if you do, write it down right then and there, or at least write some key words then as a reminder to hopefully full in more details in the morning. Good luck! |

I'll say that this a pretty debatable subject filled with a lot of "fact vs placebo." In my experience though, Apple Juice seems to really help with my clarity/vividness/etc. The B6 in apple juice has been thought to help with these aspects. I don't get too into the supplement area because everyone's mind and body are different, so some things may work better for others. Of course, there is that placebo effect that is hard to document as well. I'd start with B6 rich food and drink or vitamins if you are looking for a supplement boost. Melatonin is another popular supplement. I haven't really tried too much more than that. |

One thing to keep in mind is that we all wake up every 1.5 or 2 hours or so every night, but usually we just roll over and fall right back asleep and forget we even woke up. If your dog wakes you up in the morning perhaps that time is not your best time for remembering a dream since you get distracted by the dog, who by the way is important and should not be deprived so that's not a good option. |

Ok, so thank you all for your tips, but unfortunately I only got one vague memory of waking up. I also woke up during my REM cycle, which might mean something, so there, I said it. |

The nose pinch RC is not going to wake you up, so something else was the cause. Most likely you got too emotional upon becoming lucid for the first time. This caused that adrenaline to kick in and it woke you from your slumber. Another very possible scenario is you actually didn't wake up at all. You could've had a False Awakening. Always be sure to perform a RC every time you wake from sleep so you can catch these (not saying that this happened, but they are very common). A third, and more unlikely scenario, you were at the very end of your REM cycle and your body woke up naturally. Even at the normal end of an REM cycle, you can prolong the cycle by simply staying in the dream. The REM cycle isn't a set-in-stone deal. I'd bank on the excitement waking you up, but no worries, that is perfectly normal. The more lucids you have, the easier it will be to stay calm and relaxed upon becoming lucid. |
