Hi everybody,
I discovered this site a few days ago when I was browsing the web for some info about LD, so today I decided to make an account and introduce myself.
So as the title already suggests, I'm from Belgium and I'm a 19 year old biotechnology student.
When I was younger, I had a lot of intense dreams and it wasn't unusual (and still isn't) that I wake up in shock during the night. My first LD experience I recall was around the age of 7. I constantly was having the same nightmare of dinosaurs who attacked me, but after a few dreams I realised it wasn't real and I suddenly stopped running away from the dino's saying: this isn't real, I can't die in my dreams.
I've always had the habit of recalling my dreams after I woke up, not on paper but just reconstructing the dream in my mind. This way, I can still recall dreams from years ago and still feel them vividly when I close my eyes.
3 days ago I started my dreamjournal and I've been writing down 1-2 big dreams/night and also 1-2 'small' ones which I don't clearly remember (the small ones are +- 2 hours before waking up and I clearly do have some more control about them though it are just flashes of fragments.) I already noticed that my ex-girlfriend seems to appear in almost every dream in some way, has to be the most annoying dreamsign ever!
Last night I tried to do WILD(when I woke up at 3.30 but I fell asleep), when I went to bed at around 23.00, my eyes suddenly started shocking very fast (had this a few times before) and I felt like I was spinning around and saw flashes of light while my body started tintling and my heart pumping. I've had this a couple of times already but I never seem to have that 'break through' to start dreaming or I think that I'm dreaming but when I pinch myself it still hurts. Could somebody give me some advice on this? I seem to lay awake easily 1-1.5 hours without moving anything but still staying awake.
I did have this strange experience that I woke up after a dream, wrote in my journal about the dream and went back to sleep. Later in the morning, when I woke up, there was nothing written in my notebook. Is this false awakening?
I hope that through this platform, I will be able to make that breakthrough to lucid dreaming.
Have a nice day,
Risdt
