Hi there. Welcome!
Check out http://www.dreamviews.com/f20/beginn...eaming-124786/ for some basic information, and if you have any questions after that, feel free to ask!
Good luck :D
I'd recommend 3 things.
Sleep 7-8 hours
Keep a DJ for all dreams
Read exploring the world of lucid dreams
You can of course LD without any of these, but I don't think anyone can deny that they help. :)
Welcome to DV. If you need help, just PM me. :D
Welcome QuentinCardell! :)
I have learned lots of stuff in my years of practise, and even though I write and answers to questions here and there, I sometimes think that it would be better if I didn't said anything at all (atleast to beginners), because the best lesson is your own failures or misstakes. The only downside of this approach is that, sometimes the ego can get the best of you, make you frustrated and perhaps even make you stop. And that is what I want to prevent new members from doing, so if you ever need any help let me know and I will try to both help you solve your problem and understand the problem.
But all I can say is that, there is no method that can induce frequent lucid dreams, so don't look for one.
What's important in order to make the practise successful, is to have fun and practise for the sake of the practise and not for a lucid dream.
I will give you two examples to understand why.
1. If you play soccer only to score a goal, frustration is almost guaranteed. Instead play soccer to have fun and the goal will come naturally at the same time as you have fun!
2. If you go to a party to hit on girls, rejection is almost guaranteed. If you go there to have fun the girls will be attracted to you naturally at the same time as you have fun!
Same for lucid dreaming. If you practise and only focus on getting a lucid dream, you are more likely to fail and you will also be more frustrated when you fail.
Instead choose a method you know is effective, but most important of all, that you know is fun! Then all of the factors that get you lucid will start automatically.
You are by then not stressed of getting a lucid, because that is no longer your focus and that does alot! Calm sleep = Calm dreams.
So you see most things in life doesn't fail or succeed because of what we do, but because of what we think!
And that takes us to another important lesson.
NEVER judge yourself when you fail, instead observe yourself in third person like you were watching another person's misstake, and learn from it. :meditate:
You can always ask the members of dreamviews, but remember to also ask yourself.
Sweet dreams :content:
Welcome to DV :welcome:
If I were you I would start a dream journal to document your dreams. This will help you improve awareness and hopefully get you a lucid through DILD (dream induced lucid dream)!
thanks alot i really aprishiate all the tips!! (: but i already have a dream journal and i have all the methods writen down iv been doing WBTB and DEILD and so far they havent work'd but im not going to stop that would be terrible for me to try so hard and then stop. and i also performe reality checks and meditate trouout the day. i dident say tht in my last post so now if u have mor tips feel free to put some other wise thank you so much :D
I would recommend a goal journal. Something small. Stephen Laberge says that writing out goals helps more than anything. Set some short term goals that push you, and some long term goals that push you even more!
one more question im srry if im overwhelming but it takes me at least and hour or more to fall asleep and i wake up after an hour or so of sleep what can i do because i think im waking up before i can lucid dream ??
If you are dreaming then you can have a lucid dream, but if you are waking up too much at night you might want to consult a doctor. ;)
Welcome! After you wake up after an hour, do you go back to sleep? Afterwards, do you wake up any more?
i wake up after and hour and it takes ALOT!! of effort to sleep again otherwise i cant sleep until 4:30 till 5:00 in wich case my lucid dream is gone along with the WBTB method
Welcome to Dream Views! This is the place to be for anyone wanting to learn how to lucid dream. The Dream Guide team is here to help you navigate the forum and answer questions. We all have 3 green stars above our avatar. Click on our user name and you can then select private message if you have a question, or you can start new threads. Don't worry about starting threads that have been started before, just try it out, if it ends up in the wrong place one of us can move it for you.
One thing you can do in a post is place a link to another thread. I have done this below. You can click on the colored words to see the new thread. Start with this extra basic one, it will help you read the acronyms in other posts, Help With Acronyms For Complete Beginners
After that one the very first thing you should do is check out basic tutorials. This one covers most of the terms you will see members using in much more depth, so start here, http://www.dreamviews.com/f20/beginn...eaming-124786/
Also be sure to check out the DVA Dream Views Acadamy, click on this link to get there, DV Academy.
Matte , our Dream Guide team leader runs a general lucid dreaming class, and you can join in contests where you gain points for dreams you have. General Lucid Dreaming (Matte87)
Gab , another Dream Guide runs a class that is very valuable to beginners on MILD/DILD, which is by far the best method to start with. DILD (Hukif and gab)
Finally as far as the DVA stuff goes, there is a class on introduction to lucid dreaming. This is a great place if you are just starting out and need a little personal help. Intro Class (OpheliaBlue, RareCola, CanisLucidus, Chimpertainment, Xanous)
I hope to save you some time by giving you a link to a thread we all put together on the topic Sleep Paralysis. There has been so much misinformation and confusion on this topic, that after a few days on the sight, you would surely run into confusing statements refering to SP. Save yourself some frustration and read this post if you want to know about SP, http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/sleep-...lained-136993/
Now, on the lighter side, you may be excited to learn to fly! Here is a thread where people explain how they went about learning to fly, http://www.dreamviews.com/f14/can-u-...u-learn-40468/
Then just for a laugh here is a thread where people list all the things they want to do in an LD. It is mostly light hearted and supposed to be funny, http://www.dreamviews.com/f11/1000-t...-dream-104556/
Have fun and good luck with your dreaming!
