      Oi!

Hey peeps. Names Riyo, or you can call me by my username, your choice. :3

Just recently decided to start trying to lucid dream again after having a heated debate with a friend whose a long time lucid dreamer himself.

I first got into the idea when (I know) Inception was released. Tried it back then, the stages scared me. I started up again today and got closer than I ever did before (I'll write a thread over it later) and figured having a place to discuss my findings and such would be a grand idea. So here I am!

      Welcome to the forum!

It's neat to see how many people are interested in lucid dreaming, all over the world. You're in good company. Tell your friend to sign up!

You mentioned the stages scaring you...are you by chance referring to WILD and Sleep Paralysis? If that is indeed the case we would like you to know that SP is a rare occurrence and need not be part of WILD attempts. Read here for more info. http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/sleep-...lained-136993/

In the meantime, I look forward to seeing you around the forum. Feel free also to stop by chat. We have a lot of active people who talk about dreaming and more. http://webchat.dreamviews.com:9090/

      Pleasant dreams!

Sorry about taking so long to reply. Unforunately, Chrome doesn't seem to like DV. XD It wouldn't let me reply to any topics on the forums, so I had to figure out another browser to use which is unfortunate.

In any case, yes, I was speaking about WILDS and their SP's (which I have learned aren't actually SP's at all. Interesting really.) and how difficult it was to get over them. Still a little nervous about them, but I've learned to deal with most of the feelings I get. However, I still haven't had the chance to lucid. Never give up!

Chrome worka fine on here for me. Are you sure it is not a problem with your browser? Maybe you should check the settings.

Anyways! Welcome! Always nice to see a new face. Inception was boss, it had a lot of non LD points in it (for instance, I have died many times in my dreams, and just went on omnisciently, most people don't feel pain in their dreams, I am one of the exceptions, there is no such thing as a dream inside of a dream, just scene changes). It is still an interesting show though.

      Is your friend on here?

Right now quote and the edit button are working normally for me! Thanks for resolving that issue. All you had to do was right-click it though and open the page in a new tab for it to work.

      Welcome to Dreamviews, Riyo!

It isn't Chrome, it's just the site is undergoing some maintenance. The website seems to work for me today, though. Glad you decided to get back into lucid dreaming. Be sure to ask if you have any questions ^_^

Welcome to Dream Views! This is the place to be for anyone wanting to learn how to lucid dream. The Dream Guide team is here to help you navigate the forum and answer questions. We all have 3 green stars above our avatar. Click on our user name and you can then select private message if you have a question, or you can start new threads. Don't worry about starting threads that have been started before, just try it out, if it ends up in the wrong place one of us can move it for you.

One thing you can do in a post is place a link to another thread. I have done this below. You can click on the colored words to see the new thread. Start with this extra basic one, it will help you read the acronyms in other posts, Help With Acronyms For Complete Beginners

After that one the very first thing you should do is check out basic tutorials. This one covers most of the terms you will see members using in much more depth, so start here, http://www.dreamviews.com/f20/beginn...eaming-124786/

Also be sure to check out the DVA Dream Views Acadamy, click on this link to get there, DV Academy.

Matte , our Dream Guide team leader runs a general lucid dreaming class, and you can join in contests where you gain points for dreams you have. General Lucid Dreaming (Matte87)

Gab , another Dream Guide runs a class that is very valuable to beginners on MILD/DILD, which is by far the best method to start with. DILD (Hukif and gab)

Finally as far as the DVA stuff goes, there is a class on introduction to lucid dreaming. This is a great place if you are just starting out and need a little personal help. Intro Class (OpheliaBlue, RareCola, CanisLucidus, Chimpertainment, Xanous)

I hope to save you some time by giving you a link to a thread we all put together on the topic Sleep Paralysis. There has been so much misinformation and confusion on this topic, that after a few days on the sight, you would surely run into confusing statements refering to SP. Save yourself some frustration and read this post if you want to know about SP, http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/sleep-...lained-136993/

Now, on the lighter side, you may be excited to learn to fly! Here is a thread where people explain how they went about learning to fly, http://www.dreamviews.com/f14/can-u-...u-learn-40468/

Then just for a laugh here is a thread where people list all the things they want to do in an LD. It is mostly light hearted and supposed to be funny, http://www.dreamviews.com/f11/1000-t...-dream-104556/

Have fun and good luck with your dreaming!
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.
