New member and some questions too

Hi, My names Gongmyung and I'm 17 years old.
I just started to read about lucid dreaming (my friend said something about it and it sounded interesting) and it seems like it'd be awsome.

So I read a lot of stuff about it and I started a dream journal two days ago.
Here are some questions I have:

How fully should i be able to remember my dreams in order for it to be considered a good memory?
For instance: yesterday night, I had this dream where the tripods from war of the worlds (i saw that movie two days ago) were attacking. I can remember some parts of the dream very well, but others i dont remember at all. I was in some kind of refugee camp, and it was very cold (becauase there was a lot snow). I remember everything that happened in the camp, but I dont remember how i got there. But I know there was a lot of stuff that happened before I got to the camp. Anyways, in the camp, Me, my father, and my brother (but i dont actually have a brother) were trying to get these jackets that were on the ground, but when we did the soldiers came and arrested us because that was illegal (for some reason) and then they took us to this underground place. I dont remember what happened there, but i remember pizza for some reason. Afterwards, I was trying to find my sister who for some reason had several hawks with her, and i remember everything from then to waking.

Also, I found that all my different dreams (during one night) seem to be linked to each other - is that normal?

Like before the tripod dream, i had a dream about this tower and we were trying to get out of the tower, the only way down was jumping off into a tree and climbing down. But i found this back way which led to an underground garage, which had this one red car in it. And that led us out into a pastry shop where the lady gave us a really good tasting pie. Than i woke up, wrote the dream down, and fell back asleep. And in the next dream (about the tripods) i remember my dad saying that we could escape using the car we found in the garage.

And finally, inbetween those two dreams, I had this semi-lucid experience, but im not sure if that was me just imagining it or not:

So I was trying to go back to sleep, and when i feel asleep i think i must have been sleeping really lightly, because the dream wasnt vivid or realistic at all, it was just like i was closing my eyes and seeing vauge images. But i remember seeing (those of you who have never played starcraft wont understand this, but basically a reaver is like a tank and a zergling is like a guy with a sword) like 6 reavers and 6 zerglings, and I was the reavers for some reason, and the zerglings attacked and started to kill the reavers. And i thought, "woah their winning, that cant be right, this has to be a dream!" and i was angry that the zerglings were winning, and i thought that the reavers should win, and suddenly the reavers killed all the zerglings. But as soon as this happened, I realized that i had been aware of my body (in bed) the entire time, and that my arm was in a really uncomfortable position. So i moved my arm, but as soon as i did i woke up our of the dream.

I look forward to becoming a part of this great community!

You should be able to remember your dreams all the way, but if you don't, you are going through a Dry Spell.
Yes, that is normal. Many on here have had that happen to them!
If you knew you were dreaming, then you were Lucid, & it is common to wake up upon reaching that stage!

Dreams are an interesting result, of some state (sleep?) I still can't figure it all out. It is weird.

Welcome to dreamviews. Thanks you for sharing that. And your experience sounds normal to me. When you can recall most of your dreams you had the night before that's enough.I dont know exackly how many dreams that would be. more than 4?

Anyway nice to see ya. good luck with it.

yeah the reaverz and zirglingjers can be a pain. i wouldnt worry about that too much.

your expierience sounds like a low lvl lucid i induced a week or so ago. so it was kinda dark and hazey. yes? mine only lasted a few minutes though. i believe that is what is called a low level lucid. cool dude!

I think it's natural to not necessarily remember ALL of a dream...as long as you remember some, and are able to write it down, i wouldn't worry too much...from what you've already written, sounds like your recall is pretty good!
A recall dry spell is where you remember nothing, or what you do remember is hazy...and it does sound like you had a low level lucid, where you realised you were dreaming, but could do nothing about it.
