First post and a question about my dreams

Hi everyone. I'm so glad I found this forum because I have been wondering something about my dreams for a very long time.
I assume I am having lucid dreams but I am not sure. Ever since I can remember my dreams have been so vivid that I can hear, taste, and touch/feel. One reason I don;t think I am dreaming lucidly is because I know I'm dreaming but it seems I only know I'm dreaming about five seconds after things happen...this means I can't really change anything or control anything. Does this happen to anyone else?
      Thank you!
      ~Amy

realizing senses in a dream doesn't intel lucidity
remember you have to be fully aware of the dream and its content.

Well, to me the only stipulation to being Lucid is simply knowing (for sure) that you are in a dream. It doesn't matter how real it feels or how much control you have or don't have. You just know. It's what you do with that knowledge that matters... [/cliche]

Good luck with LDing. From the sounds of things you've got a pretty good base to start from! Let us know if you need anything.

      Welcome to Dream Views sparklydeath

Sounds like you are lucid for those first few seconds, then you lose it. Perhaps you're getting too excited once your senses get overwhelmed. Try to calm down the moment you realize you're lucid, then practice your dream control by first attempting a few simple tasks, then gradually increasing to longer and more complex ones once you feel your lucidity is stabilized

      Good luck

As long as you knew you were dreaming, you were LDing!
