Hi guys! I've been lurking this site for a lil over a week now. Just reading and soaking things in. I've been interested in lucid dreaming for years now but only recently really started looking into it because now I have down time (waiting on the state to send me my license to practice chiropractic). A little over a week ago I had my 2nd accidental lucid dream, which is what led me on my journey to learn more about it. Since that accidental dream, I've been able to lucid dream purposely 2 or 3 more times (that I can recall).

Last night was the most vivid lucid dream I've had yet. I really soaked in the realness of it. I'll be sure to write out my dreams in the dream journal for others to check out (if interested :shadewink: ).

Glad to be here and thanks for all those that have contributed to the site and the information thus far. I hope I can give some insight here and there on how I managed to start lucid dreaming almost immediately after learning how to do it. Thanks!

Thanks for joining the site :) Lucid dreaming is indeed amazing, I'll never get tired of flying or moving things with my mind. Which technique are you using?

I believe I'm using MILD. I remind myself to do reality checks in the dream and then go from there.

I also repeat myself before I go to bed "When I dream, I'll recognize I'm dreaming" or something along those lines. I've just tried being positive and telling myself I'm going to have a lucid dream. It hasn't worked every day but I would say 3 lucid dreams on purpose in the past week-week and a half when I started researching this more is pretty good for a beginner.

Your positive attitude will be contagious on the forum! Do, please, post your dreams and add side-notes on what you did before falling into the dream. People are always glad to read this info.

I was noticing that the WILD class has a focus on mantras in their current lesson if you would like to take a look. It is clearly helping you.

Wow DoctorJ, that's extremely good for a beginner. The average amount of time it takes someone to have a LD is one month, so three in 7-10 days is quite good. How long ago was your first LD? Have you been stabilizing your LDs effectively? I'd be interested in reading some of your first LDs, so feel free to post them in the DJ blog thing that DV set up. :)

Well...it keeps giving me an error every time I try to reply...testing to see if this will work.

Oh yeah, you can't post external links for about a week. It's standard for all new members. It's an inconvenience, but it helps with trolls.

Haha, man don't worry. I can't hate you for being a natural. LDing is just like any other skill, some pick it up more easily than others. My LD ability is pretty average for a beginner, and I'm making progress at my own pace. Congrats on the two LDs last night! Have you chosen a few stabilization techniques to try out next time? My dream self is very scatterbrained, so I try to plan out the next LD I have, including RCs and stabilization.

I sometimes have that speedy visual experience. It feels exactly like what you describe.

What I found will sometimes help is to make sure I have at least four hours between dinner and bed. Additionally, if I stay up later than a decent bedtime (say 1 or 2a.m.) I am more likely to experience the visuals so it's best to stick to a comfortable sleep time...not too late, not too early.

Another thing that sometimes helps me is drinking a Coke, kind of like giving a hyperactive kid a stimulant. Drinking Coke at night makes me sleepy...it may not work that way for you but I'm sharing some of the things that I find help in my case.

Exercise is also good. I used to walk at night to avoid the extreme heat and it did wonders for my sleep, particularly during the school year when I was also doing WBTB.

Maybe a glass of milk might help.

I've been attempting to rub my hands together and when that didn't work well, I rubbed em and spun in circles lol I hope I can stabilize them better soon.

I don't drink soda or milk :P Well, soda on occasion but it has to have whiskey in it :P
