Hey Nick, welcome to DV.

So you're currently having dreams where you are aware that you're dreaming, but you cannot control the dreams? If that's the case, then that's a really good first step! With a little practice, it's only a matter of time before you are able to control them.

So you've had lucid dreams in the past? How long ago was that? Do you know what happened that led you to having realistic (boring) dreams? I hope your dreams become more exciting soon, and that Dream Views helps you achieve that goal.

Good news, if you were aware that you were dreaming, while you were dreaming, then you were indeed lucid. Dream control, which is often confused with being lucid, is something that can be learned. Like Caenis said, you have achieved the first step. And congratulations for that!

I had lucid dreams as a child like most people. AroUnd the beginning of teenage hood when life became serious, all my dreams became replicas of real life, everyone in the dreams doing exactly what I'd expect them to do in real life.

I am now able to note I am dreaming (I have a solid habit off elite checks) but once I know I am dreaming, I enter the same place, every time.

Realistic dreaming can be great for lucid dreaming, as it is easy for practices in real life to carry over to the dream world.
I recommend you try out some awareness techniques, as well as reality checking whenever something strange happens.

No worries man, I knew what you meant. That's cool that you had lucid dreams as a kid. I don't know if that's common or not though. I don't remember having any lucid dreams when I was young. My dreams back then were certainly more colorful and lively, but not lucid. Maybe you were just a natural from birth?

Really? What place? I'm just curious because I almost always start out in my bed in an LD. Which may be the result of dream chaining, but I'm curious as to what you meant.

Basically once I know I am dreaming, I enter a zone that slightly does reflect me.

It is kind of like a large abandoned building, but cut away so I can see the inside. It reflects the poor areas of the Dominican republic (which I visited on a mission trip, it really impacted me.) It is made up of a collage of modern architecture from pure stone to random bathroom tiling, much like the Dominican. There are stairs and doors everywhere along this passage. Nothing too weird, but there are doors on the floor. Cats are everywhere, meowing. I do like cats a lot so this could be why. A women always screams at the cats, telling them to shut up. I remember my mother screaming this all the time when my cats meowed, probably why the screams are there.

While I am aware I am dreaming, the times I have reached this area (about 4 times) I am too scared to explore. The area is exactly the same so I know I am dreaming. I just feel to scared to explore or do anything. Also note that it is always night time, and there is a very loud light.

Most of the time, I am walking with a good friend joking around, and he simply disappears and I turn the corner to find this place. My general problem is that I know the pattern, I know I am dreaming. Does it mean anything, first of all cuz I did not create it with any "powers" and secondly what should I do to do some different stuff?

Interesting. Do you know you are dreaming before you come to this special place? Or does the place tip you off that it is a dream?

It depends. I think while I am dreaming, there is always a theory in the back of my mind that I am dreaming. Sometimes it gives it away, sometimes I go to by turning the corner.

I think the main reason I don't do anything about it is that I feel I am supposed to explore, something like that.
