      Just started a dream journal!

So I just started a dream journal after more than a year of contemplation. I've been learning about LDing for about that same time. Anyways, thus far I've got 1 weeks worth of entries and but 1 vague recollection. I've had a few neat ideas for journal entries. For my first (i'm not going to write all of them down, event though there's nothing really TO write down) I drew the moon almost with 3 stars I saw aligned with it. I was wondering, if I drew a few star constellations every night, and their position in relation to the moon or some other fixed point, observed, dreamed and realized which pattern of stars/date they align, would do something for my dreams. I dunno, it was a crazy thought. Once I catch my stride and start dreaming more, I'll get heavier in detail. Thanks for reading all who click! If you have anything, ANYTHING to add, suggest or criticize about my post, PLEASE- i don't mind - say something! I love to learn!

Just wondering, but what do you think it will help by drawing the moon and the stars?
Glaedr, the golden dragon from the Inheritance series.

The way they are aligned. I don't think that the actual position of the stars/moon will dip into the vivacity(uif thats the right word) of my dreams. Rather, I am thinking of them as being some sort of calendar for my dreams and how eventful they might be when the moon/stars are aligned a certain way. (*well, i guess i do think they maybe do lol). Anyways, I try to find small subtleties like that to incorporate into my thought process, hoping/knowing that possibly it might work.

      Thanks for responding!

Certainly keep up with the DJ- without it, any other efforts you do as a beginner are effectively halved. If it get's to the point where it is a chore, then take a break for 2 days. Then go back to it. Never break for more than 2 days. I could say never take a break for more than 3, or more than 1, or whatever, but I find that if you at least set yourself a number of days, and stick to it, then your good. Don't just take a break indefinitely- you will end up never getting back into it.

On a positive note, 1 dream in your first week is good, especially if you went from none beforehand. I personally never dreamed, then on my first night had one, then it went up and up from there... but no lucids, or any that are really mentionable. I guess we all excel at different aspects to this whole thing.
Don't give up if lucids are slow to come. It takes some people a few weeks, some months, others days. It took me about 6 months before I had literally a second long one, which you would think I would have been happy to have finally had one. But I just sat up in bed, and didn't even bother shrugging at the lousy excuse for a lucid it was. This hasn't gone well for me, lucid dreaming is very hard for me. (inb4 anyone coming along saying "Don't say it's had, if you believe it's hard then it is, when it really isn't trololololo".)

Just stick at it and you should get somewhere soon.
