      Wonderful Site

I have recently been exploring the realm of lucidity and find it quite amazing. I became interested after having a great dream and wanting to continue the experience and relationship formed. Sounds weird, but then again, it is just a dream. The nature of being able to create a world seems just thrilling and I plan to rewrite my sleep habits, which my Mom will be happy about just in order to obtain lucidity. I ususally get 7 hours of sleep but I am striving for 9.5 now. I will try to be active here because it is a wonderful place and if I am not posting I will probably be reading around. I will be sure to post my first LD when and if it happens. Thanks for the great site, very informative.

Welcome, Ross! Interesting name and quite a cute avatar you've got.

It is said that the average adult needs about seven hours of sleep, but somehow I never feel truly rested unless I get about thirteen or so. In any case, more sleep is definitely a great idea, if you can make the time.

You may have already noticed, but there is an entire forum dedicated to the subject of Attaining Lucidity, as well as one for Dream Control, for how to gain better, smoother, easier control of your dreams once you become lucid.

Looking forward to hearing about your lucids! Also, while [url=http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=190]Seeker. PM him with praise if you like. I'm sure he will.

      Good luck!

      Welcome to the forum Ross!

I'm glad that you like it here. There are SO many friendly people and there is SO much to learn!! I suggest you spend some time reading through the tutorials sections and familiarizing yourself with typical acronmys used here such as (LD, WILD, RC, DC...etc.)

After you have been around for 2 weeks you can send someone a PM who has been especially helpful to you and ask them if they would like to adopt you. The adoption system is put in place so that the new members can get some real one on one attention from their adopters.

My biggest suggestion to you is to begin a dream journal. This will greatly help with your dream recall (and the amount of dreams your can remember and the extent at which you can remember them). As soon as you wake up journal down everything that you remember from that night's dreams. If you wake up in the middle of the night it is also a good idea to write down the dreams that you remember b/c isn't it so frustrating when you wake up the next morning knowing you had a great dream and yet cannot remember it at all!? Once you are able to increase your dream recall you greatly increase your chances of becoming lucid...but more on that later!!

Make yourself comfortable and if you have any questions feel free to send me PM.

Thirteen hours!!? You're sleeping more than half your life away! Wow, if I get that much sleep, then I feel groggy the rest of the day -- although it's nice to do once in a while, that's for sure.
