I found this site after trying to find out why I've been having night terrors. It started when I decided to quit drinking and has left me with a lot questions and strange dreams.
Every time I try to sleep, regardless of the time, if the light is off I'll get a sensation of being paralyzed and a total body pressure. I become terrified and sometimes I find myself in a lucid dream. I've had lucid dreams since I was a child, I could fly, breath underwater and do anything really, until I started drinking. Now when I LD I wake repeatedly in my dream and can't actually wake up, sometimes it feels like I'm being flung around my room or lifted of the bed. I'll be asleep but know I'm asleep and can't wake up.
I've also seen things in my LDs, I felt the familiar sensation of something crawling on me, not like bugs but something large, like it was trying to mount me and looked around (I sleep on my stomach) and have seen a naked red man.
Last night I had several very strange dreams (I had a lot actually in 2 hours), it started with a feeling of being covered by a pressure and like something was squeezing my right hand. One of the dreams was that I had a child and her name was Alice (I'm not the type to want a child) and it didn't look completely human and another where a man came and sat on my bed, told me to stop drinking and began to poke me with his finger, like he was digging his nail into my skin and cutting me. I tried to turn the light on and gave up, to lay down in my dream and wake up. Its these dreams that have brought me to your site.
I'm getting tired of having nightmares and they don't seem to be improving. I want to be able to close my eyes with the lights off and not feel like I'm being mounted. I'm 18, what happens when I leave the house or get into a serious relationship (this hasn't been happening that long) and start shaking in bed like I'm having a seizure because I'm terrified and can't move (I know I was shaking last night)?
LD is fun and I'd like to recapture that wonderful feeling of out of body exploration without being attacked by some sort of "demon". When I had seen "insidious" I was completely freaked out, when I was a kid I had a dream I went through my house and went into the utility room and found a little tunnel that lead me to a small Gothic looking room.
I'm sorry for the extremely long post, I guess I just have alot of issues with dreams...
