Hey all, I am Gary Holdaway. I live in the UK and am 20 years old. I have recently had a beautiful little girl and she is 5 weeks old today!
My religious beliefs are not limited to any set belief system. In that I wouldbe classified as Pagan, however I am always researching and learning about tons of different belief systems and theories. I have my own beliefs, and learn purely for the sake of knowing. Sometimes i adopt some principles along the way.
I heard a friend of mine talking about lucid dreaming, and that brought me here. In search of what its all about, I have realised that I am no newby to this concept. I am 90% of the time aware that I am dreaming, and i am 90% of the time in control. The reason i say 90% is because I have been having these reoccuring dreams recently that I cannot control at all and I am never positive that it is a dream.
When I awake from dreams, I can intentionally go back into a certain situation and create a dream for myself. I don't know how, it's just something I have done since I was young. However, this is limited to waking from dreams initially, I cannot just fall asleep or meditate my way into a dream- Other than a single place i have crafted for myself over the years of practicing certain aspects of religion.
Interesting theory of mine: no matter how many times i have tried, I cannot and have not EVER seen Freddy Crougar is a dream. I think it is because in the movies, he is seen with the power of controlling dreams, and 9 times out of 10 if you see him youwill die. I think the brain, even of a lucid dreamer, is blocked to certain events- such as ones that you believe are dangerous. Freddy is seen in the film, as somebody who can halm you even in dreams, and so your subconscious thinks that even asleep you are unsafe when you see him. It would be interesting to hear your thoughts about this, and possible experiences. It actually sounds like an interesting "task of the month."
