Hi!
Hey all, I am Gary Holdaway. I live in the UK and am 20 years old. I have recently had a beautiful little girl and she is 5 weeks old today!
My religious beliefs are not limited to any set belief system. In that I wouldbe classified as Pagan, however I am always researching and learning about tons of different belief systems and theories. I have my own beliefs, and learn purely for the sake of knowing. Sometimes i adopt some principles along the way.
I heard a friend of mine talking about lucid dreaming, and that brought me here. In search of what its all about, I have realised that I am no newby to this concept. I am 90% of the time aware that I am dreaming, and i am 90% of the time in control. The reason i say 90% is because I have been having these reoccuring dreams recently that I cannot control at all and I am never positive that it is a dream.
When I awake from dreams, I can intentionally go back into a certain situation and create a dream for myself. I don't know how, it's just something I have done since I was young. However, this is limited to waking from dreams initially, I cannot just fall asleep or meditate my way into a dream- Other than a single place i have crafted for myself over the years of practicing certain aspects of religion.
Interesting theory of mine: no matter how many times i have tried, I cannot and have not EVER seen Freddy Crougar is a dream. I think it is because in the movies, he is seen with the power of controlling dreams, and 9 times out of 10 if you see him youwill die. I think the brain, even of a lucid dreamer, is blocked to certain events- such as ones that you believe are dangerous. Freddy is seen in the film, as somebody who can halm you even in dreams, and so your subconscious thinks that even asleep you are unsafe when you see him. It would be interesting to hear your thoughts about this, and possible experiences. It actually sounds like an interesting "task of the month."

Hi and welcome to DV! Having an open mind when starting to lucid dream is great. If you do you don't often set limitations on yourself which will help you stay lucid and have great dream control. Belief is what it's all about! What you describe is DEILD and dream induction. If you lie completely still when waking up you can go back in the same dream or create a new one by visualizing.
Sounds to me like you're lucid quite often, nice! Then I suggest you start setting up some goals and completing them.
About the theory, who knows? There's nothing that can hurt you in a dream unless you believe it can happen (psychologically then of course), I'm sure there's been a similar "Task of the Year" actually. Sometimes things you fear the most in lucids might happen, then you've got a lucid nightmare on your hands. I'm sure you'll be fine if you did summon him.
If you got any more questions, don't hesitate to ask!

hi matte, thanks for your reply. Is it weird then, that I actually wake up fully, turn around to face my girlfriend and tell her about my dreams, then go back into them? Because if there is one thing i don't do its lay completely still haha I am definitely going to start practicing lucid dreaming actively, I just need to look around a bit more and decide how and where to start.

Oh, then you have an incredible gift! :) Yeah there's tons of fact here. The main techniques you should check out are WILD, DEILD, MILD and DILD. WBTB is a nice "addon" to any of those and increases your chances of getting lucid alot. You can find the tutorials here if you haven't found them yet: DV Tutorials - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views
Also having a Dream Journal is probably one of the most important things as you increase your recall when you have it, but you can also relive any amazing dreams you've had. Just like pictures, reminding you of good times :)

Actually I have had a few dreams (I count five) where I have seen Freddy crougar I my dreams. Two of them were lucid. I don't think the subconscious cares if you can get hurt or not. In many of my dreams I have felt pain and been injured by people, animals, and whatever else you can think of.
Welcome to dream views. :)
There are many great dreamers on this website. Have fun!
