      New to Lucid Dreaming!

      Hello Everyone!

I had my first lucid dream a little over a month ago. I hadn't read anything on the topic and didn't know anything about it. It just happened. It was a short dream but I was very exhilarated afterwards. I started reading on the topic of Lucid dreaming and wanted very much to have more lucid dreams.

There were many times as a child (and even a few times as an adult) where I would have quasi-lucid dreams involving bathrooms. I was never a bed-wetter for this reason. In my dreams if I was searching for a restroom and not finding one, I would realize that I was in a dream and that I needed to wake up and use the bathroom. I'm not sure if this counts as Lucid dreaming but I feel that it at least precludes me to having a natural knack for it (hopefully).

I started to work on my lucid dreaming by concentrating on my hands, telling myself that I would know that I was having a dream and writing in my dream journal. This only lasted for a few days after my first lucid dream. I came into a good amount of weed and didn't dream again for a few weeks (since marijuana inhibits REM sleep). Put simply, I chose to smoke pot over having any dreams.

This past few days, now that I am once again out of weed, (sad how that happens) I have started working on my dreaming again. The other day I smoked some of the Dreamer's Blend Tea/Smoke. It's not the best thing I've ever smoked but it was alright and it is legal anyhow. I had vivid but not lucid dreams that night.

Last night I wanted to make the most of a long night without worrying about waking up in time for work, (Labor Day). I drank Sleepy Time Extra tea, smoked more of the Dreamer's Blend herbs and tried to drink some of the Dreamer's Blend as a tea. It was so gross I could only take a single sip. With some lucid dreaming exercises and music that is supposed to help with dreaming playing on my laptop beside the bed, I went to sleep. I concentrated on the exercises and it worked. I had my second lucid dream! I'm hoping to have many more.
