Hi there - I'm new
Hi, I am brand new to lucid dreaming and haven't really started anything yet. I wanted to try this as a way to deal with frequent nightmares and other upsetting dreams. I can usually remember more than one dream a night, so that part is going well. A few questions to start-
The other day I was reading about reality checks for the first time. That night, my dream self looked at my hands and thought, "All my fingers are there, so I must not be dreaming, even though they are blurry." Is it possible to know if I really came to that conclusion while dreaming or if I couldn't have changed it either way? It's kind of hard to explain.
My other question is that sometimes in my dreams, I don't really feel myself there. It's kind of like watching a movie, but I don't even feel myself standing there watching. Anyone know anything about those types of dreams?
Thanks a lot for your time.

i have been in dreams when they dont feel like im in them like there vislizations so it means you need to increase awareness of your dreams by shouting in the dream increase awareness or by using all the sensess and next time you see your hands blury your dreaming beacuse in real life there not blury unless you have seeing problems :shadewink:

I'm sure I fully understand the first question. However, counting your fingers isn't the strongest RC, I recommend doing a nose plug just to be sure.
For the second question; dreams like that are very common. I find them easier to become lucid through because for me they're usually not as vivid.

For the first question, although all your fingers may be there, details could be off, eg what you described and your hands may look completely smooth and textureless.
For your second question, I get dreams like that all the time. After having a few lucid dreams, I have felt like i'm actually apart of the dream, though. The dreams become more real in that scenario and you feel like you're really there.
Good luck with your lucid dreaming!

Not every RC is guaranteed to work, and while a certain RC may work for one person, this doesn't necessarily mean it will work for you. Always try more than one RC to increase your chances of lucid dreaming. Experiment with different RC's to discover which ones are best for you.
Either you're having third-person POV dreams, or difficulty with your awareness. I suggest: KingYoshi's ADA/DILD Tutorial.

Thanks for the replies. Maybe I can clarify my first question.
So I know that the blurriness should have made me realize I was dreaming. My question is whether that was really a reality check, or just a part of my dream. Like it was totally made up, and I didn't actually decide that I wasn't dreaming, or a failed reality check.

Perhaps you were thinking of reality checks earlier in the day and so it became apart of the plot in your dream. :) Hopefully you'll realise next time!
