I guess that is a start?

I had a super short LD last week. I could only control my mouth and what my mouth says. I am still not sure if it was an LD tho.

Any tips for a new guy? I always try the WILD method any easier way to have an LD? Music, food, moves that will help me? I know I am asking a lot but, LD is great and sounds fun and enlightening.

A lucid dream is essentially one in which you're aware that you're dreaming. Regardless of whether you can actually control your body and/or the dream, if you were conscious in the dream, then it was a lucid!

If you haven't tried the MILD and DILD techniques, I suggest go for it - many people find it simpler than a WILD, because all you really need is awareness. There's some links to tutorials, as well as a description of other techniques, on the page Beginner's Guide to Lucid Dreaming, linked in my signature. For food and drink that induces lucidity, that's a tough call because most foods don't really increase awareness! If you're looking for a dream vividness boost, though, foods like salmon and drinks like apple juice have vitamin B6 which will do the job. As expected, taking vitamin B6 supplements also works. Binaural beats have had mixed success with people, but try them out; there's some on youtube.

I just read your DILD guide and I think I understand how RCs work now.

P.S: It is not a good idea to come up saying hello and all while having a 3,666 post count. LOL

Haha. Can I say hello now?

RCs are mainly to confirm whether or not you're dreaming. You can become lucid without them, which is most often the case, then when you're standing there in the dream, you do one to test whether you're actually dreaming or not. Sometimes you don't even need one because...

1) You're so sure it's a dream (seeing unrealistic things in the location, people's behavior, etc.) that you don't need to check.
1) You're not too aware, so it doesn't occur to you to do a reality check in the first place, but you're still lucid.

And yeah, apple juice is my favourite when it comes to dream vividness. It's tasty, too.

Just now I had a good LD. Before I went to bed, I was reading your DILD guide and kept thinking how silly is it to try the nose plug RC in real life and someone sees me.

Before dreaming, I was using MILD [ when you tell yourself you WILL have a lucid dream. Am I right about the name? ] and then let my thoughts take over.

In my dreams, after walking for a while, I tried the nose plug and could not breath so, my mind said " this is not a dream " and my awaerness level was high after that

EDIT: After that, I had a FA and thought the LD was over. While in a dream without knowing it, I went to my brother and told him about my short LD.

Could not do much because I have a bad control over my LD dreams. I guess it will be easier over time.

Welcome to the forums! This is a great place to meet fellow dreamers. There's a lot of awesome tutorials here that you can read to help you have more control in dreams. Also, Apple Juice is awesome! I hope you stay awhile and post.
