      Hello! Beginner LDer here

Hey, I decided to finally sign up here after reading a few guides on WILDing and trying it a few times myself. I have come close to transitioning into a lucid dream, but have not been completely successful yet (I was transitioning to where my whole body was getting numb and I started hearing a dog barking and woke myself up out of fright). Anyway, I'm going to start reality checks and begin attempting WILD regularly from now on, so I thought I'd sign up here on the forums to discuss techniques; etc.

So hi! Uh, about me: My name is Graham, 18. About to get out of high school and move out of my hometown of Raleigh North Carolina to live with my buddy a little further east. I listen to a lot of music, most notably metal and all of it's sub-genres. I play the guitar and uh. Yeah. Hi!

Thanks for the guide. I guess I'll need as much information as I can. I tried WILDing last night, but my problem is I always fall back asleep (I lose concentration first). I've heard emptying your bladder helps a lot, but normally I don't need to at that hour of the night. SHould I drink some water before going to bed?

Hey Graham welcome to dreamviews I'm afraid I'm no expert on WILDing but I think the emptying the bladder thing is just so it doesn't distract you. If you dont have to use the bathroom I dont think you should worry about it. Maybe when you WBTB you should try staying up a little longer and reading a book or something like that, this may help you maintain your concentration for your wild attempt. This hasn't worked for me yet but it does increase my overall awareness in the dreams afterwards and has taken me further into sleep paralysis then I normally go, just an idea. I'm still learning too but there are plenty of experts on this site, like dakotahnok, to help you out so feel free to ask questions

Welcome! I bet you'll have a lucid dream soon with that kind of effort.
You seem cool, like most people here. Have a nice time.
