      just a Nooby question

Do you guys have any hints on staying aware while trying to WILD? I always seem to sleep into a dream without noticing it because something causes me to not be completely aware. I really wish that I could remember the process of when I go to sleep every night(what happens when I enter my dream-state) but because I get distracted that's hard, I also don't know how I get distracted because i attempt to focus REALLY HARD every time I try but so far the results have been kinda so yeah help.

Could you be specific on when you WILD? Did you wake up during the night, or is this when you are falling asleep for the 1st time?

I lay perfectly still, I am tired but alert at the same time and sometimes I either count, or think about the type of dream I'm going to have. I will also think about how I am going to react when I start feeling the WILD phase and how I will control it to make sure I won't wake up (remaining calm, ignoring hallucinations, etc).

well I haven't had the hallucinations yet. It's both of the times waking up I have trouble keeping aware.

I think the best way to tackle this is with a WBTB. Wake up a couple of hours before your usual time, and spend around 15 minutes doing reality checks, writing/reviewing your dream journal, mantras, etc. Then when you go back to bed, you will be tired and aware at least.
