      Hey all, nice site.

Even has a searchbar in the title thing. I like it!

I want to get started and have spent a while reading the guides and noseyign about the forums. This stuff looks pretty damn cool, the more I read the more I want to give this stuff a shot.

I am a complete none believer when it comes to most things but like the idea of messing with my own head and am open minded . So I am gonna give all of this a honest, patient, try.

Think I am gonna see if someone wants to .. 'adopt me' . I wont be to messey ah prommise! My current parents already feed me

I am slightly confused about where to start, there seems to be a few ways of doing so. I think to start off with I am going to invest in an alarm clock that wakes me and not te rest of the house (and is easy to turn of), make a dream 'diary' (A notebook that I can type up and extropolate later) and start to regulate my sleep patterns. They need it anyway!

      Hi and welcome to DV!

Start by writing down your dreams in a Dream Journal. This is to increase your recall. Then you need to believe in yourself and looking forward to gettling lucid. Having a goal you want to accomplish is a great motivator. Start doing Reality Checks and perhaps try some other techniques like MILD, WILD or WBTB out. Just keep on experimenting with them all and you'll see which one fits you the best.

      Good luck!

That will work just as well Only executive members can set their DJ's to private. No problem!

I just use notepad on my computer. I sleep with a wireless keyboard, and notepad open.

I know that the term "believe in yourself" gets thrown around a lot. I consider the phrase to be goody goody talk. However, what Matte said is actually important in this case. In this case, believing in yourself actually has a direct, and very real impact on your success rate. The only thing that can get in your way is your own mind, so in this one particular instance, it really is important.
---o--- my DCs say I'm dreamy.

'DreamJournal 2.6 - free program for recording dreams'

      Perfect!

Should I be attempting exersises right from the start or just focus on remembering for a bit first?

I'm not sure what anyone else would say (I'm by no means an "expert") but I'd say start by improving your dream recall and keep recording your dreams in your journal. I suppose you could start trying some techniques. I personally use meditation as it's good for other things too like relaxing and reducing stress.
