Hmm...this seems like a tough one. You will likely have to make the final verdict. I'll try to help you get there . It sounds to me like a couple different things could have happened...
1. You could have fell asleep initially, woke up very briefly, and then started to fall back to sleep again. This is when SP could have set in. All of this could have happened in what seemed like seconds. You then attempted to be casual, which is good, but was a little too casual and lost consciousness. With a WILD, it is a little tricky to balance how focused you must be. You can't be too focused, or you won't be able to fall asleep/transition. At the same time, you need to be focused just enough so that you don't lose consciousness. It may take a bit to get that "feel" for WILDing. Just takes a bit a of practice.
2. You could have had a dream about WILDing. If you have read information about it, you could have fabricated this in your dream. However, your description sounded very accurate to common "side effects" of SP.
I would suggest trying out WILD for sure. It is best if practiced with WBTB or day time naps. The beauty with a WILD attempt is, even if you fail and lose consciousness. Your mind was on lucid dreaming all the way up until the point in which you fell asleep. This can lead to vivid dreams and DILDs as well. Good luck to you and if you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask!
