      Where are the beginners?

I seam to stand at a dead end. I can remember dreams...sometimes, about every third night. I am keeping a dream journal, I think I have identified one of my dream signs. I got into some very first state of sleep paralysis. I am doing reality checks throughout the day, well I cold do some more checks I guess, but I forget doing them because of work and other stuff...
Now what? I do not see any progression. Other people asking similar things in here are told they are not dedicated enough, by people who hat almost a hundred lucid dreams, and simply state 'Oh well it's easy for me'.
Where are the beginners? Those who have taken the first step and become lucid once a month or so? Those who could tell me, if they had similar problems and how they overcame them. I honestly do not see, where to go from here.

      Regards

I am a beginner. I have only had three lucid dreams since I began trying. I just keep trying and don't get myself down. I think one of the most important things is to continue with the dream journal everyday or as much as possible. This helps with dream recall so that once you do begin to attain lucid dreaming you will remember the dream.

There are a few things that I have been doing to try and help my process. First is what I believe is called 'reality checks'. Sometimes during the day I simply look down at my hands and rub them together and say out loud "Am I dreaming?". This is what triggered the last lucid dream that I had. Secondly, I downloaded some free isochronic tones that I found from a forum (http://www.dreamviews.com/f12/lucid-...ccount-108404/). I'm not sure if they work but they are definitely relaxing to listen to. Lastly, I read up on the WILD technique and I use it as meditation as I go to bed. I know it is not the "proper" way to utilize this technique but, once again, I find it relaxing.

Don't let anybody tell you that you are "not dedicated enough". Unfortunately it is easier for some people than others and we are the others. Just don't give up Good luck.

Man... the people with hundreds of them were once beginners. You do several RCs, do you question reality? Why do you think that WILD needs you to reach SP? If you have a job, that causes stress on the body, maybe your mind too, and thus, it makes recall more difficult, so it is no wonder it varies.

I'm a beginner And as far as I understand, there are actually a lot of new members this year (me included^^) vast majority of whom are beginners.
Though I already had few LDs, they all have been random DILDs. I'm struggling with dream recall now and it's not easy for me at all...

Beginner here as well. Do not be disheartened, just follow the advice of some of the more experience posters on this board and keep at it! I don't know who it was that told you that you were not dedicated enough, but don't listen to them. It has been my brief experience that nearly EVERYONE on these boards is extremely helpful and just generally good people.

I believe the DJ is an essential tool. Even if you rarely LD (I have only done so once), it really helps you to see the general atmosphere of your dreams. It has really helped me pick out dream signs more readily; now if only my damn unconscious mind would stop listening to DC's when they tell me I'm not dreaming!!

Hi guys, although I joined several years ago, I've been away for quite a while and came back just recently. So right now, I'm where I have never succeeded in WILDing, and have only had 3 extremely short DILDs, none of them being very vivid. I am about to restart my dream journal, it really is too bad that I lost my old one, though... Also, last week I had pretty good dream recall, but since Saturday I haven't remembered a single dream. I hope I will develop better recall, and I hope you all do the same. I am going to try setting my alarm clock to wake me up after around 4 hours of sleep, and see if I manage to remember a dream.

Hey. I am beginner. I had my first GOOD lucid dream yesterday. Not very long, but nice. PM me if you wanna now what did I use. ;D
      My opinion:
*Lucid Dreams, OBEs, Astral Projections are one and the same.
*There are no levels of lucidity. Quality changes if you apply some deepening.
*Lucid Dreams do not last more than 20 minutes.
      *Wolves are beautiful.

Hi there - yes, it can be a daunting task to find people who can point you in the right direction. Let me make it easy for you - go to the Internet Explorer and type in cosmicdreamer.co and you will come to a site that has all the answers you will need. Specifically read 'The Book' which is free downloadable and go to the section Lucid Dreaming - you will get all your answers there. Hope this helps.

I started one in december and was able to recall at least one dream every night for about a week, which was an awesome result. Then it declined to every other day, then to one ever tree day.

Doing those all day. I have some events on which I do one and everytime something seams strange or puzzeling.

I have tried several types of music. I find all of them relaxing, but I have not noticed any effect so far.

I have read on several places here, that SP ist the first stage on the transition from being awake into a dream. I am not dedicated to WILD, I just gave every technique a try. WILD is described as a more difficult technique, so I do not try to relay on that exclusively.

I wish someone would have told me as a beginner to just focus on WBTB. Wake up after six (or less) hours, be active for 2, go back to bed, combine with mantra. This is the easiest way to lucid dream.

If it doesn't work for you once, don't quit, try again.

That means..we do not need any induction method to LD.
      Refered as Naturals.
Anyway, don't worry its easy to get Lucid. Just hard to control.
You'll get it sometimes. Just need a good imagination, thats all.
      Goals:
      1. Attacking my enemies instead of running away from them~ Ultimately taking control of my dream situation.
      2. Remember that I can always summon a shield around me to protect myself in dreams. No need to fear!

I think what helped me achieve 2 little LDs in a matter of 4 days and before that my only other one was over 8 months ago, is definitely doing consistent reality checks, because the first new LD I had I remembered to do that in it and the first time I did it in the dream it didn't work, so I tried it again! But practicing RCs religiously on a daily basis throughout the day made my brain adopt it and transfer it over into my dreams.

My favorite RCs are holding my hands out in front of me and counting my fingers (that's the one that worked in my LD 5 days ago), attempting to put my finger through my hand and a new one I am trying is holding my nose and trying to breath through it.

Also, someone had told me about Dream Stabilization and how once you do become lucid, you will lose it instantly if you are too excited and don't have a plan. First you need to anchor yourself in your dream, but even before you sleep, make up a plan, make a goal of something you plan to do once you become lucid... start out with something small, not too complex and then work your way to bigger and better things the more experienced and comfortable and stabilized you get.

      Good Luck!

Ah, there is people who can WILD without the need of SP, so I would advice to NOT focus on SP and just focus on getting into a dream when trying to WILD.

Some people can enter LD only when going throu SP, depending on my own experience I am one of those people, because SP is very rare thing for me.

I'm a n00b as well. Still trying using reality checks, dream journal, subliminal music, and sometimes I try supplements. It's been nearly 3 months of trying and I only have one semi lucid experience so far that was very short, but I keep on trying. It might take me a long time, but I will get there eventually, and so will you. Hang in there.

i am a newbie just like yourself. i have had many lucid dreams in the past up until recently i assumed that everyone had lucid dreams. I am trying some of the techniques i have read about on other forums to help with lucid dreaming. My lucid dreams have always been random and i have had very little control over them.

Keep going. I've become lucid a few times but then I forget what I'm meant to be doing. The last time was a few days ago, I had a false awakening, realised I was dreaming, thought great let's see what I can do, got out of bed & then the husband asked what I was doing - that toatally threw me & so I woke up again! Didn't really use any technique, just noticed I was dreaming, the windows in the bedroom were wrong & the clock display had changed colour.
Don't give up, you'll get there, I'm sure you will.
