Help for a new person
Hello guys, im brand new to lucid dreaming. I found out about it a few weeks ago from a thread on 4chan (which is how i learned the terms) but havent really tried to do anything until now. I tried the WILD technique (this may be the method i will use because i dont want to do the whole "dream journal" thing) in the car and got up to sleep paralysis. It was a very strange sensation, i saw odd colors and went completely numb (this may have been because i was laying on my arm) but couldnt start dreaming. I was wondering about a few things.
1) does listening to music through headphones help with lucid dreaming? Does it inhibit it?
2) after reading up on a few things here, im acctually terrified about some things. Mainly the whispering i may hear. How common is this?
3) is there anything else i should know before i do anything?
4) do i really have to try in the afternoon or can i do it at any time of day(including nighttime)?
Thanks in advance for your advice!

I also feel as though i should say that i have had two lucid dreams already without trying. The first was last night, but it only lasted a second or 2 (i knew it was a dream because for some odd reason i did a reality check) the second was earlier in the car after i gave up during sleep paralysis. I performed a reality check and realized i was dreaming. I got excited and did it again, but i was awake.

I've never considered that someone could just do the WILD method and nothing else, have terrible dream recall and not keep a dream journal. I don't like the idea, as it seems like cheating. But I guess it might be possible. I've never succeeded at the WILD method, so hopefully people who have will give a better answer.

Welcome to the forums,
1.) Listening to music helps some people and distracts and destroys dreams for others, it's up to you really.
2.) Some people hear whispers and some don't, everyone is different and everyone experiences different things. I myself experience whispers, at first they are alarming but not bad.
3.) Even if you do WILD you should keep a dream journal, it helps remarkably regardless of your techniques.
4.) You don't have to do this in the afternoon, it is recommended that you have at least six hours of sleep prior to trying though.
